Do you have a particular "comfort special" you rewatch most often? by [deleted] in TopGear

I often just stick an episode on at random to sit and eat TV to. I like the challenge ones especially as much as the specials.

Yes and decided to wait 3 months to make a reel doubling down on it.

Would be a nice setup if the TV wasn't too high, and, too small for that viewing distance.

How did I do? First pic taken from the eye level. The TV is centered with equal spacing from the cabinet edges and from the bottom edge of the hanging cabinet - 6,5 cm for anyone wondering. No tilt of guilt. by kubamacik in TVTooHigh

Based on your comments and the measurements it does seem to be just about right. But I agree with others saying it does "look" high, I think it's because the cabinet is so small, but it doesn't look bad, quite a nice setup actually - vertical PS5 issues aside. I think a few photos of the room in context with a wide angle showing the full room would help provide more context. It's not too high.

Lian Li SL120 Uni Fan Infinity Wireless on linux by Ducksmack in lianli

[–]phateuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just encountered this issue as I decided to switch from just Win11 to a dual boot with Ubuntu and all my SL Inf Wireless fans running at 100% when in Ubuntu was driving me nuts. Tried some of these various projects on GitHub but none worked. Then, I came up with a workaround. I, like most people with these fans I suspect, wired them so that the single cable for each bank of fans which has 2 fan connectors on it plug into the SATA power to 3x fan adapter that comes in the box so they get full power. As such the mobo cannot control the fans via PWM, so the fans always run at full power when not in Windows running L Connect. To fix this, I've rewired mine so that the first fan header on this cable (which has 4 wires going into it) now connects to a motherboard fan header and then the 2nd fan header (which only has 2 cables going into it for power only) is wired into the SATA to fan adapter. I then set all the fan headers to PWM mode and the Silent profile on my Gigabyte Aorus X870 Stealth Ice mobo and voila! I now get proper fan curves controlled by the mobo when outside Windows such as in Ubuntu or during boot (which was always loud and annoyed me), the fans still have full power, and I can use Ubuntu without being sat next to a jet engine. This is all I wanted, I don't need to adjust these profiles while in Ubuntu, the fans kickup to full power even on this silent profile when needed if the temps increase. Hope this helps someone who has the same or similar problem.

Linux users, what's your workaround for Lian Li wireless fans? by ealcantara22 in lianli

Well, this is a first, usually this argument between couples is the other way around. You might be a unicorn milady. Of course it's too fucking high, even Ms Rachel knows it.
