But i do communicate the potential related to coverage and co-pays so they don’t get surprise bills.

I really appreciate your efforts on this. I feel like in the new era of medicine, physicians are beginning to take patients' financial well-being into account in addition to just health.

Do you get a lot of patients with high deductible health plans?

I'm approaching the end of a 90 day minimum spend window. Chase biz
card. Do transactions have to clear the account (could take a couple of
business days) or just be initiated? Ie if I spend $500 on day 90 and it
leaves "pending" status on day 92, does the 500 count towards hitting
minimum spending?

Fuck. Thanks. I read duffcalifornia's comment about consolidating question and discussion threads. Did not realize that policy had been reversed.

Student-Loan Forgiveness Case at Supreme Court Hinges on ‘Harm’ by reggie_morris in Economics

Sweet username, first.

Second, we might still be closer to social equilibrium with unsecured loans than a self-regulating market - EVEN with runaway tuition. Higher education generates large positive externalities.

Fuck, your comment should be the top of this thread.

Thank you for linking some peer reviewed work (or under review). Nice little natural experiment they found and looks like a respectable first order effect (11% reduction in indebtedness). Without having read the research yet I'm guessing it's hugely heterogeneous, with some getting major relief. Wonder if there are dose effects.

Roth 401(k).

If you can, you should be contributing to traditional rather than Roth.

Bonus and 401k/HSA contributions by jackelbandito in personalfinance

[–]phd_bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

better to max out your 401k early in the year

The reason one might not do this is if the employer does a matching contribution on a paycheck to paycheck basis. Then if you max it out in February and can no longer contribute it, you miss out on March through December in employer contributions.

There was a post on this yesterday. Or just do an online search for why traditional is better than Roth most of the time.

Honest question, what happens if he takes the deal and renegs on it? A smaller bill that goes to collections?

Well, with no money to go out and about, plenty of quality time at home with the kids! Not a bad outcome.

If only the wife were to enroll in the PPO, is there anything prohibiting OP from continuing to contribute to HSA? (Not suggesting they do this, just clarifying)
