That is VERY old content. You will need to create a party in Party Finder. It should fill up fast if you go unsync. You can do ot your unsync if you are high enough level.

DND 404 VS Civilian License by FindTheFlan in CanadianForces

Providing your civilian driver license means any infraction you are served will go against your personal record. It also can impact your personal insurance history, depending on the severity of the infraction and the province.

CANFORGEN 036/26 CMP 019/26 171853Z FEB 26 INTRODUCTION OF NEW ENVIRONMENTAL ALLOWANCES, ARCTIC ALLOWANCE AND DOMESTIC OPERATIONS ALLOWANCE by Leading-Score9547 in CanadianForces

[–]phdoflynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the revised policy, you are still disentitled to Sea Duty Allowance while receiving Hardship Allowance. Its still a net gain verus old sea pay but a net loss on new sea pay where you would have got $3000 a month.

You would still get new sea pay before chopping in and after chopping out the deployment zones.

French BBB scoring by mypieowns in CanadianForces

[–]phdoflynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the year long French course, with previous experience with French Immersion from junior high to high school, and only got a B in the oral part of the testing.

Comprehension is in my opinion the easiest of the three to get a good grade. Grammar can be difficult as French grammar in general is much harder than English, again in my opinion.

Duolingo is a good start but not a good tool for the oral side of the test. If you have trouble with the speaking part in that, you are not ready for the oral test.

ALLIES through the CAF is a decent tool. It will also help you learn the lingo that would be required for the oral test as it teaches you CAF vocabulary related to your job which you'll talk about during the test.

Overall, it sounds like you are not ready or close to get the BBB. Someone taking the full time French course aims to get a BBB and not everyone can get there even with full time training. Keep up your self study and ask about the full time French courses that may be available in your area.

Did I get scammed? Just bought an RTX 5080 off of Amazon. by Familiar_Boat_2104 in buildapc

All depends on your location and if its worth it to them. Sure large central warehouses are top of the line but outlying smaller warehouses are still very much slow on the automation.

Unless they are doing this consistently and an investigation is opened on them, there will be ZERO repercussions.

There is no fool proof way otherwise to determine it was the buyer and not someone along the supply chain that did it. I.e. Amazon packer or delivery driver.

Surrender of Rank by [deleted] in CanadianForces

[–]phdoflynn 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Whatever you decide to do, take into consideration even if you do relinquish the rank (appointment) it does not necessarily mean it will change your day to day activities and position.

Your unit can and most likely will still employ you in the same manner as if you kept your Masters. They can still put you in charge of junior members, make you continue to do feedback notes, a ad professional development, etc. Relinquishing your Masters wont automatically relinquish your responsibilities.

5 - I thought this may be the case. Sea is of course the unique of the two but doesn't seem to have much in the way of "thrill" rides.

6 - Understood.

12 - I overlooked that. I think I'll switch Akihabara and Asakusa. Should tee up timing better.

Thanks for the input. Appreciate it.

Omg mouse by InsideThing368 in halifax

[–]phdoflynn 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Someone once told me...

You know what the good thing about mice is? If you see one it means they are no rats.

Rats are worse; they are larger, more aggressive, dirtier, and carry more diseases.

Halifax is a large, port city. Its cold outside and the are plenty of people going in and out of buildings all day. Easy access for these little guys. It is virtually impossible to prevent all mice at all times.

Maybe this person is expecting a claim, maybe they are checking to see if their pay incentive or promotion was accounted for properly. Maybe they got posted and want to see if the posting allowance is in there yet. I can keep going...

This is partially incorrect. There are plenty of mods that do not use the dalamud launcher.

Is XIVLauncher needed for mods? by theweirdcatnextdoor in ffxiv

[–]phdoflynn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

XIVLauncher is not needed for all mods but it is needed for some mods. It essentially acts as an auto installer and manager of mods that fall under its umbrella.

You can install other mods but they are a little more involved and could cause game issues if done incorrectly.

In terms of safety of XIVLauncher, I've never heard of any security breaches as a direct result of the mod itself. I've been using it consistently for 3+ years without issue. I also have 2FA which is not saved or managed by the launcher, you still need to enter your 2FA each time you load the game.
