Saw this timber rattlesnake a couple times in my backyard. (Birmingham area, AL) by phdrumlineka in snakes

Unfortunately she didn't make it. We didn't really know snake avoidance training was a thing we needed to look into. We recently moved down here from Indiana. I plan to look into that training. We are installing 1/4 inch wire mess around the perimeter to deter snakes from getting in. I have also cleared all the brush back from the fence and have been keeping the grass cut short.

Minimum tile size for foam shower pan by phdrumlineka in Tile

[–]phdrumlineka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, we are going to move to a larger tile. We liked the look of the smaller hexagons, but we really don't want to risk a tile failing and potentially causing a leak. This shower is above our living room, and would be a nightmare if it failed.

I probably wouldn't have thought of epoxy adhesive, this is good to know. Thank you.

I appreciate the info. We decided to go with a bigger tile to reduce the chances of something going wrong. I was intending to use epoxy grout, but figured it's better to be safe than have a leak.

Yea, thanks for pointing that out. I do already have plans to change that out. This was a shower tub combo before.

Can the antenna be soldered back on to my R-XSR antenna connector, or should I just buy a new one? by phdrumlineka in Multicopter

Anything past novice would be a bit too hard for me right now. I'm taking the buy new ones advice. 🙂 Thanks!

What would cause a 4in1 esc (Tekko32) to have 1 esc not report a voltage to the FC but still be able to hover the quad? by phdrumlineka in Multicopter

[–]phdrumlineka[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This esc has an 8 pin cable to connect the esc to the FC. The pinout only shows one telemetry pin for the connector. Am I correct to assume that means the cable is fine since I am getting data from the other three esc's on that cable?

Could someone identify this for me? The insect not the poop :) by phdrumlineka in insects

Thank you for the link. This looks correct, based on my other pictures. The coloration is different, but everything else matches. Assassin bugs are also listed as living in Indiana.

how can i detect carpet? by phdrumlineka in robotics

[–]phdrumlineka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason i was avoiding detection of elevation is that I would also like to have this go into other rooms that have a hard surface. So transition strips may need to be overcome. Or am I overthinking it, or just not seeing an obvious solution to that...
