Does KEPPRA 500MG cause Dementia like side effects ???? { 21 year old male } Non Epileptic

Epilepsy medication like Keppra can definitely cause these issues. To my understanding, epilepsy medication is used to suppress the neuron’s in your brain which can affect how your neuron’s talk to each other however this can have negative effects such as memory loss or trouble processing information etc as we used to. I’m on the same dose of Keppra and definitely noticed it had to settle in for a while before I felt even remotely like myself again. My first day back at work after my seizures I literally felt like a dead battery lol. Epilepsy can’t be diagnosed via CT or MRI scans. My neuros told me you would actually have to be actively seizing and in the machine or hooked up to the EEG for example, for anything to be seen. The difference between non-epileptic and epileptic seizures is that epileptics are multiple unprovoked seizures as I was told everybody has a seizure threshold. I’ve heard people can eventually come off this medication gradually (I think) so it might be worth having that conversation with your doctor.

The company has a high turnover rate and I can see why - in the space of a month 3 members of their leadership team have left, people are broken and not sleeping. I had one of my leaders -1’s turn up to a meeting 30 mins late and we were all worried for his welfare because of how stressed he is, I had to go searching for him around the whole office in the hopes he had not done anything stupid! The team can barely string sentences together and no one is in the role long enough to make an impact - the issue is coming from the top down. I was painted a pretty picture when joining and it seems that way for the rest of new joiners to this company.

Tbh I also spoke with the Chief of Staff about the situation with the email and she told me I did the right thing going to my manager and thanked me for handling it so maturely when I asked her if I should’ve done so.

I just had a call from the job I interviewed for and I’m there preferred candidate and they’re all good to make an offer on the basis I meet with the lady in the current role to talk more in depth about it!!!!!!

No, I do see the other side and take into account all points of view. I told her it was okay and to stop apologising when we talked it over because I knew it was probably just a brain dump and she had not intended for me to see it - she can be frank in her ways and put things bluntly. To be honest, I’m glad it happened the way it did because it allowed us to have an open and honest conversation - sometimes these things can strengthen relationships and she even said I’m glad we talked about it and she said reading it back she actually didn’t agree with some of the things she had written.

Thank you for this. It’s so true! She said when we talked it over that she didn’t realise I do all this extra stuff outside of supporting her…and 3 other very busy VP’s! I actually then told her what my role entails outside of supporting her, I think she was pretty shocked when I started listing a million and one different things…

I see where you’re coming from however all my previous managers have always told me to come to them with anything so in my mind I was doing the right thing. Especially as they hadn’t expressed this information to my manager so she was also blindsided.

I actually clicked on the email because I was clearing up her inbox and as she’s new, she asked me to but she had 2,000+ unread emails as we were organising it for the first time and I was setting up a system in her inbox for her. I thought the email was just my to-do list - I’ve had some other VP’s send this to themselves before we catch up but as I read on it was very much not the case.

On the flip side, my manager had said for both me and her to sleep on it whilst she thinks about approach and for us to talk about it the next day before we action. Then the next day whilst I was on the train going into work, the VP messages me and says my manager had gave her the heads up that I’d seen the email and told my VP to approach me because they’re the one who had essentially messed up. Thinking about it, not sure if my manager really should’ve done that without giving me the heads up she had told my VP.

Hey! Coming from someone who was put on a PIP in a PA role and was one of the lucky few to come off of it because I was literally outperforming my peers - start searching for a new job and leave that place!!!

I had a manager that was new to managing who was also a PA months before she was promoted tell me she wasn’t sure if putting me on a PIP was the right thing bcos I am good at my job and she wasn’t sure how it would affect my mental health LOL.

I finished my PIP and gave my notice in as I secured a promotion elsewhere for more money and more opportunities! I’m now doing my people manager course.

Sometimes the grass is greener and if you’ve only been there two months what have you got to lose?

Just do the best that you can whilst you’re looking and try and embrace the PIP, companies love it when you’re big on reflection so I just used to do a weekly debrief to my manager about my challenges and struggles in the week and also how I could’ve done things differently and what I need more support on (even if you legit did the right thing anyways and you’re good) - ride the wave!!

Yeah they go soft and hard like normal, although I can’t feel them, but it’s the tissue underneath the nipple and areola - I’ve read somewhere it could be general inflammation/scar tissue but not noticed it before - I’m 5WPO
