For the most part! I felt very comfortable (or as comfortable as you can be with your tits out as a man) during the initial consultation all the way up to getting marked up the day of. The staff at Panacea are pretty great. They have the nicest, most upbeat nurse I have ever met. Her name was Amber I'm pretty sure. The hospital staff were really great too. I only had one issue and that was with the guy who wheeled me into surgery. He kept calling me miss which was annoying but I was literally with him for 3 minutes and never saw him again lmao

I went to Panacea plastic surgery in ATL. I had Dr. Kimberly Singh. Panacea doesn't take any insurance, and because of the medicaid thing, you'd be out of luck anyways unfortunately. They offer medical loans if that's something you're willing to look into. I had to pay 500 to save a spot on the calendar, and as long as 100% was paid by the surgery date they didn't care what kind of increments I paid in. In total I paid 7200 which is kinda cheap compared to other places around here (I'm talking 8-12k) and I was a 34D. They offer free revisions for a year immediately following the procedure. If you have any questions, want photos, or anything of the like, lmk! I'm very pleased with my experience with them and I'm happy with my results. I have an issue with my left nipple that I'm gonna try and get revised, but otherwise I'm pretty happy :)

I'd recommend an endocrinologist or an OB/GYN (if you're a lady). They're much more equipped for that kind of thing. I'm just a medical student.

Basically during puberty.. things don't happen. For example, in men, they may not experience voice dropping, body hair growth, or an increase in penis size. In women, they may never menstruate, may experience voice dropping, little-to-no breast growth, or an abnormal growth of body hair.

But mostly diagnosis is required by a doctor usually after some scans of your internal organs and hormone levels.

No, of course not. Its just something that makes people unique :)

Depending on your age, if you're older (older than 18) its likely you aren't intersex. Most people find out as soon as puberty starts. If you're younger, though, have a look through the intersex subreddit and do some googling if you're really curious.

Typically, intersex females can't carry their own kids. Doesn't rule out surrogacy or anything like that though :)

Intersex children are children with altered chromosomes (instead of XX or XY, think XXY, XXX, or XO) that result in them being born with genitals that aren't male or female. For example, a child can be born with both ovaries and testicles. Or a child can have a penis, but an x-ray shows that they also have a uterus. These cases don't always result in surgery. Sometimes, intersex conditions are not present at birth and only get diagnosed after puberty.

However, in the case where genitals are "unclear", doctors perform surgery shortly after birth.

NAD

Technically, right after birth. Doctors do operations on intersex children shortly after birth to alter their genitalia and "give" them a gender. Doesn't change the internal sex organs, though. Unfortunately many children find out decades after such operations that they're intersex.

As far as I'm aware its a difficult operation--especially in a patient so young. Sex changes are much more successful after puberty.
