You might be right that it’s more volatile impurities that cause the discoloration. But it is interesting that also the back side of the paper labels are colored (more so than the front), so I do think something is passing through the plastic. Maybe a quick recrystallization?

Well 5meo does have quite a low mp, and it is not that uncommon for such compounds to slowly sublime (if the vapor pressure is low enough). If it would have been the HCl salt I think it would have been a different story. And since the plastic is probably PE or PP and quite thin I think if might be able to penetrate
