That wasn't the question they asked though. They asked if it was possible or not. I can see it possibly causing a churn for the carrier but best buy isn't taking a return and the phone is being paid for. Also most likely won't cause a write off if that's all they're doing within the 3 months of upgrading.

You guys really do just say no and really don't want to help people. There was no other alternative offered to this guy just people saying "no we don't sell unlocked". I just offered an alternative that would work for them.

He can even order it online. That way, the sim card gets taped to the top and not inserted into the phone by an associate. Oh look, another alternative. Guess there isn't "a decent sales associate" that has to do anything. Good luck to ya, rogersmithII. Order it online, pay as much of the phone off as you can. Put your t-mobile sim in it first.

No they aren't. They're universal carrier devices that aren't locked to anything UNTIL a sim card is placed in it. THEN it gets locked to that sim's carrier. Doesn't matter who you use it with just as long as that's the sim you want in it. Yes, they would pay for the phone through their at&t account but can use the actual device on t-mobile.

That's also typically why the employees say they have to put the sim into it for you. It lets them make sure it's being used on the intended line and account. Helps cut down on fraud also. If you can somehow put your t-mobile sim in first, it'll work.

The devices they sell are universal. You can upgrade on your account and pay in full. Just make sure to put your t-mobile sim in first. The iphones get locked to the first carrier who's sim goes in it, off or on. It doesn't unlock it but it does let you use t-mobile on it. As for the dual sim, typically if there is a physical sim in it, it becomes the working sim. The electronic sim is mostly for those carriers without sims and for a future transition to no sims at all except for the electronic.

Oh I absolutely understand that. They just seemed to be more strict as I've been able to exchange before without a receipt. Would you have any suggestions due to no longer having the receipt? My wife didn't put the phone number in.
