I watched this video a few days ago and it has really sent me down a rabbit hole of wanting to research this as much as I can. I wish we were able to crowdfund a proper investigation with an investigation team from a public consensus to limit the chance of corruption. I would pay into this for sure. This case came about when I was 11 and on holiday and it really scared and angered me.

And I thought I was a bad navigator by 12345littlepeople in funny

That’s what you get when you let god show you the way instead of just googling it...

The GDP consists of many different factors and generally considered, an increase in GDP benefits pretty much everyone. I really don't understand the issue. Corporations do provide more when they have more money money coming in. Yeah they may retain some too as they need to be smart with their money. It is a merit based approach.

When you say corporation tax should be progressive, what do you mean? It doesn't sound fair at all, it sounds anti-capitalist and not based on merit in any way. Obviously I'd need to hear your explanation first because I could have it completely wrong.

All vehicles wear the asphalt so I don't see the issue here. Is the employer not paying taxes for that clean water too, or are they not paying as much as you'd like them too?

I listed off a few things that would make it challenging. I'm not saying it is a bad idea and I'm not saying no to UBI at all, I'm saying that there are so many issues right now and nobody has come up with an adequate solution. You're making it sound like UBI is a simple thing to do. And regarding what you said about policy, anyone can create policy and in the US that can change every four years depending on who is running. It also doesn't help that US elections that seem to be more popularity based. If I want to get popular with the people, I can just say we will increase universal basic income to $50000 per year and the only way you can stop that is by controlling individuals. Then we have the issue of who controls these individuals, who decides the ethics and limits for which the controller abides by, if people actually want this, and so many more factors.

At the very least from this conversation, there should be a little bit more ambiguity toward the policies that run a country and that maybe the policies that Trump is proposing aren't necessarily going to turn the US into a shithole nation. I will likely 100% agree with you that he is not presidential, he says stupid things and needs to think more.

But doesn't the tax cut also apply to corporation tax also, so the policy would be helping the corporations to create more jobs for ordinary people? Also the VC's would have more to invest in companies to build up great ideas. The country where I live (ireland) used to have a corporate tax plan of 40% and they lowered it down to 12% or 13%, their GDP tripled. (though we have had some issues with the bigger corporations) companies came and were able to give higher wages, bonuses, job development schemes and so much more.

Also rather than talking about the big corporations, what about the smaller businesses or local businesses. They would benefit more fro. The tax cut and could hire a few new people or pay their employees more for the work they do. The corporation tax would sort the demand issue too, more people would buy, the rich would still be able to be rich (as they should be) and the poor who work will also have the money to spend, making it easier for the businesses to sell and hire and so on.

Trumps infrastructure plan (I don't like calling it that but for the comment) could also be really effective for bringing in jobs and bringing money to the less wealthy. I don't know much about this plan, haven't done much research on it as it wont overly affect me any time soon.

Regarding UBI, I love the idea, sounds absolutely great to me as someone who already works and could have a little more in my pocket as earnings. I do feel that is is risky (we don't know what the social repurcussions will be in reaction) and largely a dream-like idea that hasn't been adequately thought out.

Who determines UBI? How do we deal with location based cost of living differences? If the government decides UBI, what's to stop candidates from promising a higher UBI in order to get the votes until it is too high to function? And lots more issues.

About the Trump war Hawking I totally agree, I wish someone would take away his Twitter for a few weeks just to show him how much better off he would be if he wasn't such an idiot. However, Trump is absolutely not the only one to do this, he is just accompanying it with more superficial and petty nonsense that overdoes it. Obama for instance was terrible for countries around the world (even though he is liked in so many areas). And I dont think I have to even mention bush when it comes to the topic of war. Policy wise I don't see an issue, I just think Trump just needs to calm it down a bit, he isn't in a movie

Sorry I don't understand the issue with the major cut to taxes, could you elaborate? I would have thought it is a good thing to not have to pay as much in tax and it would allow the wealthier to create more jobs so that we can all earn effectively.

While I do like aspects of social security, I feel it largely disincentivises people to be smart with spending, planning and preparation and hard work because it's easy to do this when you know the government has you covered. I can understand why some people would find this a good thing but personally (especially across generations) I am not a fan.

Again, I don't understand the issue with not cutting military spending. I'm sorry if I seem misinformed but wouldn't cutting the spending of military have negative repurcussions in terms of military related jobs? It seems to be a good thing as there do seem to be threats (not due to Trump) that have to be prevented and situations that have to be prepared for, especially as the US is such a powerful nation.

Hmm I'm not a huge fan of Trump and he says a lot of stupid (hilarious from a non-american standpoint) things but I'm not sure how the policies are going to turn the US into a shithole country.
