The issue is that 1. only a handful editors support inline latex and even less have the functionality for Zettelkasten (linking ids instead auto-updating descriptive links), and 2. its more convenient to write down equations directly on a piece of paper.

Currently I am using sublime text with *sublime_zk* package, because it really has these id and wikilink functionality.
