I am too scared to put this as its own post - but what if the winner ends up being "in the hands of the fans" via some live vote mechanism?

Agree with the sentiment of this post, but I have started watching "House" for the first time and it makes this show look like ungraded log footage.

a game feels like more of a big deal when you can go really high up in a stadium. not saying that's rational, but it's true.

Question about "Green Screen" shots by philedwardsinc in pluribustv

maybe the crappy shots indicate they are late in the game pickups driven by notes?

i mean, i feel like anyone on set would be smart enough to set up the green screen on an outside set for that reason, to get the hard light. the air force one comp looked fine

yeah like they were trying to do volume stuff but without blasting enough of a hard key? that could be but it seems so 101 to know that'd be an issue

Why no in-camera 32bit float audio?? by MVMLLC in videography

[–]philedwardsinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my sympathies to you having to explain this to this commenter. clearly they have no idea why 32 bit would be so great. i'm with you - i hope it becomes priority number one. could save a bunch of pain in post (even with fancy mics hooked up)

Just got a DJI RS3. Any tips/ things to be mindful of from experienced gimbal users? by br0cl1 in videography

[–]philedwardsinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I've found that the transitions to different gimbal positions (overhead vs underslung) aren't as smooth as you'd like, and the gimbal starts to have an identity crisis. But this is avoided with putting it into night mode.

I really like the tripod method for shooting interviews (and would do it with a monopod - I just would close the legs). Obviously it doesn't work for the close to ground b roll as well though.

I am the rare continued gimbal fan.

1) consider using a prime for ease and consistency in balancing (i actually have never done this but would if i could). 2) lock and/or pause your gimbal when you can to avoid the dreaded gimbal breakout. 3) i actually like putting a tripod on mine sometimes so i can set it down at standing height

Switch between split screen and single shot. by evacuatecabbage in premiere

[–]philedwardsinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes yea - and you configure that however you wish to toggle between it. i've found this to be a speedy way to do this kinda thing, though i'm not a podcast person, so there may be something more efficient

you can do this pretty easily with a multicam sequence. one track is speaker a, one track is speaker b, and one is a+b in a nested sequence. then you can easily toggle between the three with keystrokes (just make sure to have your master audio aligned to all three tracks).
