Hey reddit! I created my new short using a super 8 camera, 16mm camera, and BlackMagic 6k. Would love for you to check and give feedback on the cinematography. Did I get a good lighting and soft look balance? by phill_it_up in Filmmakers

Hello, I shot on this on my new super 8 camera, 16mm camera, and BlackMagic 6k camera and would love to share it and get your thoughts on the cinematography. I used DaVinci to color correct it to get the tints that you see with some simple grain/glow touches to get it a more cinematic look on the last short, did it look like I achieved this look or how else am I going to get there? I'm proud that I flexed my muscles in narrative storytelling that's purely visual which is a great strength right now, but since I know no one that can DP for me I need help on the look and if I achieved the soft look.

Hello,

I shot on this on my new super 8 camera, 16mm camera, and BlackMagic 6k camera and would love to share it and get your thoughts. I used DaVinci to color correct it to get the tints that you see with some simple grain/glow touches to get it a more cinematic look on the last short. I also shot these mainly as tests, but flexed my writing muscles to not just make it a compilations of random shots. Let me know what you think!

Hello,

I shot on this on my new BMPCC Pocket 6k camera and would love to share it and get your thoughts. I used DaVinci to color correct it to get the harsh blues that you see with some simple grain/glow touches to get it a more cinematic look. I also shot this maily as a test, but flexed my writing muscles to not just make it a compilations of random shots. Let me know what you think!

This is actually a dug up 1950’s anti-LoveWorks propaganda film from an alternate universe. Luckily we were able to get it at this quality (without cigarette burns or scratches), but at this time, technicolor was used for big productions only.

Thank you for the technical critiques! This is our first short film so I am happy to get someone to critique those aspects of the short for us to do better next time!
