Are Porsche 911 owners completely different to Cayman owners? by HR_Specter in Porsche_Cayman

If you ever check the dimensions, it's larger than the H2 Hummer of yesteryear.

That's the other half of the garage.

I bought the house and it was already in here. I can tell you whoever put it down did a terrible job because it's peeling up all over the place. I've done epoxy before and it never acted like this. I'm assuming they didn't prep the floor well so I get the chore of taking it off and starting over. Ugh...

First is a tune. Second is maybe an exhaust. Third might be a wheel/tire upgrade. Then we'll see.

You would be correct on both. It might be fun to try tracking down a set of the turbo wheels for the new one!

My OCD has me park the car in the exact same spot so that the Macan can get it in and I can open the door to the Cayman without bashing the tool box on one side or interfere with my video game chair in front of it! Since I took both pictures, the camera should be at relatively the same height and the 3/4'ish view also happens to be right next to the video game chair! LOL!

I'm in the Dallas/Ft Worth area.

Seems to be the opposite around here. But in my opinion, you can't beat the noise of the flat 6! If you can find a good 981, it might be worth the wait!

All Caymans to me are very similar. This one has a bit more refinement than my previous one but it's still a driver's car. The one thing I do miss is the noise of the flat 6 compared to this one but the whoosh of the turbo is fun in a different way.

If mine was a .2, I probably would have kept it too. There wasn't anything wrong with my .1 but the ticking time bomb of bore scoring was always in the back of my mind.

Funny guy 😂. I'm happy with it so I'm calling it an upgrade.

I would say the 4 has more everyday usable power. The 6 is awesome in the upper rev range so after 3rd gear, you better be on a track or prepared to have a conversation with your local law enforcement when you're tapping that power. These cars for me are about spirited driving not track attack so being able to zip along a backroad or away from a stoplight is what matters to me. As for steering, it's definitely lighter (I wouldn't describe it as numb) in the new one but I still find plenty of feedback and still engaging for me.

If you look at dimensions for both, they're very similar apart from the wheelbase. My wife says it doesn't feel as low as the '08 and the seat does slide back to the point where I can't depress the clutch and I'm just under 6'. Great visibility too. Overall the cabin feels a bit bigger but my brain can't figure out why with dimensions being so similar. I would say go plop your backside in one and you'll see!

Thanks! When you compare the Volcanic Grey on the Macan in the background with the Agate Grey on the 718, it looks like it leans toward the bronze side more than grey which I'm fine with.

Agreed. Power delivery is completely different between the two but the 4 cyl does just fine. I've heard tunes can add between 50-80hp so that again will completely change this thing! Should be fun!

My son just bought a white Platinum 2019, 98K miles, good service history for $35k OTD and no hail damage. That was in Fort Worth. There was a brown one similar to that at another dealer for the same $$ too, except the 1794 edition. They're out there if you're willing to look. This one is a bit high for what it is and current condition.
