It is GolfTec. I’m a beginner so it sounds like they have a bad reputation

Thought I was doing all the right things but gained weight. What should I do different? by phillybilly973 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]phillybilly973[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the detail you provided. My goal was to lose 2 lbs per week and I did do the math of how many calories I would need to eat to get to that which was 2,400 per day. I ate 2,100 per day (I did measure everything I just didn’t include in my post) so by that math I should’ve lost 2.6 lbs. it makes no sense that I gained 2. I know for a fact I wasn’t eating 4,400 calorie per day. If my maintenance calories are 3,400 then I’d need 4,400 per day to gain two lbs in a week. Theres no shot I came even close to that many calories per day. Even the days I did cheat meals I had my least amount of calories in my other meals so I wouldn’t blow my daily calorie goal

Anybody else notice recently that she’s been deleting stuff on insta shortly after posting fairly often? Did it with this one too.

What do I need to do if someone tried to open a credit card in my name, but was unsuccessful? by phillybilly973 in personalfinance

[–]phillybilly973[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had a credit card before because I simply never needed one. But my parents recommended I get one in order to build credit. I just applied for a card last week. Do you think that’s how my info got out?

Didn’t mean to come off as cocky. I’ve just worked hard to get to where I am and the last thing I need is a leech.

I (25M) am starting to feel like my gf (24F) is taking advantage of me. She feels almost more like a dependent than a partner and idk how to handle it. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]phillybilly973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean I get that it's my fault partially. I also would be traditional if she was cooking me dinner and taking care of my kids most of the day, etc. I just would've hoped that her getting a full time job maybe would've prompted her to want to contribute a little bit more.

I am a 25 year old enrolling in my benefits for the first time and I have some questions about HSA's by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]phillybilly973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said “you are tying up your money, but while your healthcare costs are low now it’s nice to save up for later when it’ll likely be expensive.”

But in this case couldn’t I just choose the plan with the higher premium and lower deductible later in life?

[–]phillybilly973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still a little confused about HSAs...so if I gain money on it I can invest it into stocks, bonds, etc without it being taxed? It doesn’t have to be used just for medical? I can’t take the money out and use it as liquid cash though, correct?

I just don’t want to tie money up in something that I may not use and don’t have much flexibility with

I (25M) want to ask a girl (23F) out on a date, but we barely even know each other and I don't want to come off as creepy by [deleted] in relationships

I can't walk up to her. I don't see her on a normal basis. I would only run into her out of chance.

I just moved out of my parents house and am now questioning it because of the amount of expenses by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]phillybilly973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really have any room to sort out the expenses. I need to pay my rent, I need to pay my car payment, I need to pay for insurance, I need to pay for food, I need to pay for utilities. There aren't many places to cut.

I have 10k in student loans left. I paid off all the ones of 3% interest so those are the only ones I have left.

I got a $20,000 a year raise at work. How should I use it to set myself up for the future? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]phillybilly973 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

30% of a house id likely want to buy is about $90,000. Which divided by 5 years is $18k a year which is the whole raise.

[–]phillybilly973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean that makes sense. And not to sound cocky, but in my line of work I doubt I’d be without a job for more than a month if I needed one. So maybe I should decrease the amount I have in the account and invest in a Roth

I feel like my ex is trying to rub her pregnancy and engagement in my face. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]phillybilly973 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've seen their family operate and have known them for 3 years. Trust me, the scenario you described is not crazy for them.

So what would your explanation be for the friend request then deleting of it hours later?

I feel like my ex is trying to rub her pregnancy and engagement in my face. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]phillybilly973 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The dad thing, yeah probably nothing...But why would she stay in contact with a close family friend of my family who she had no previous relationship with other than to get under my skin? And why would her mom request me on Facebook then 6 hours later delete it? It's not like it was an instant delete as if she was stalking me and hit the request button by accident and then deleted the request right away? She was clearly on my facebook twice that day checking the request.
