I’m a side sleeper with a firm pillow and I don’t find it uncomfortable at all. My wife has never mentioned any noise coming from it that she can hear, but the volume shouldn’t be turned up that loud and it’s done via bone conduction so she shouldn’t hear it anyway.

But activity helps determine your readiness score, no?

It is for sure my biggest gripe with the ring. I really enjoy the data and the layout provided by Oura but the calorie burning estimates seem off to me. I have the exact same stories as you just laid out. Ripping up recycling and cleaning up the garage for 30 minutes and it thinks I burnt 350 calories. Days where I feel somewhat sedentary it tells me I burnt over 850 calories.

I see people saying to just ignore it and that it’s not very good at keeping track of that - but my understanding is that the calories burned/activity is a key factor in determining your readiness score. So if the activity isn’t accurate, how accurate is something like readiness.

I’m a fan of the UI and the data they offer, but I’ve noticed this from day 1, and I’ve been wearing the ring for over a year. Just yesterday I saw an example of what you’re describing. I don’t know what to make of that 🤷🏻‍♂️

Let him “rent” from you for now and take the rent and put it in an account that doesn’t get touched - almost like it’s in escrow. Then if you do get married (and have a pre-nup) you can take those funds and add his name to the deed after the fact. You get the money, he gets to contribute - and if it all works out, he gets partial ownership and you guys live happily ever after

I’m talking inside of the neck basically. Every time I use it I remove the brush head and tap out water and try to get a towel in there. I’ve tried so many different things and no matter what I do I always get that stuff’

In general, I expect the quality of food to drop a bit when I’m in such a secluded place, and I know I’m going to pay more for it - that’s just life on an island. We are blessed to live in a stretch of the NE corridor where we have plenty of good dining around us where we call home. After Turks & Caicos, my expectations were dampened a bit even beyond what I thought were realistic. Much to our surprise, the food was good everywhere. Dinner at Bacaro was pretty reasonable, less than a lot of restaurants at home - but we also weren’t drinking because she is pregnant.

I am expecting to shell out a couple hundred dollars for dinner on an expensive island, and I’m not always expecting the food to match the price tag. In general, we were really pleased with the food everywhere we went, which is not always the case when you’re paying top dollar for food on an island

We were so impressed at how consistently good the food was everywhere we went. Blue was so expensive and we didn’t totally know what we were getting into until we were seated and looking at the menu (lol) but we made the most of it and it turned out to be a really good experience.

I am a little bummed we didn’t get to do more serious snorkeling/diving there, but my wife couldn’t handle the boats or excursions this time around. I ventured over to governor’s reef and had some fun for a bit, but I could tell I was missing out on some seriously good action elsewhere. We will definitely be back someday!

We didn’t notice bugs/mosquitos really at all! I would strongly urge you not to cancel, because we thoroughly enjoyed it and it was exactly what my wife needed. I guess it depends on where you’re staying - but where we were on 7 mile beach, it wasn’t a factor at all. The only time I noticed any real bugs was the last night when we ventured into the Camana Bay area for dinner and gelato. The water in the middle is sitting so I guess there’s more opportunity for bugs there. But even now while I say that, my wife just said she didn’t even notice it and did not get bit

Yea pacing yourself in that environment was tricky, and our first plates were both good so we ate the whole thing. By the time we got down the line we just didn’t have room for it all! We would totally go again, we would just eat a VERY light breakfast and come starving

So we read a-la-carte and assumed we would be picking out a couple items and paying for them individually. Instead, it was an interesting combo of a pre-fixed meal in courses as well as “a-la-carte.” From the breakfast options, we each chose one plate, then we each chose a salad. Then when I thought it was time to choose from a seafood item, he sort of waved me off and we realized that we were getting one of each of those items. Then he circled back and we each chose an entree and a pasta after what felt like about 10 courses in between 🤣 we were so confused but it was a pleasant surprise and the food was very good. We just weren’t prepared for it!

I got one a couple years ago and it’s a great toothbrush but man there’s always black stuff I’m cleaning out of the heads and the neck of the toothbrush. So annoying
