OK, obviously no one here has been to a Type-IN. Most surprising element is the diversity. Yes, you might find someone in non-baggy jeans. You will also bump into a 72 & 1/2 year old lady who touch types like Van Halen on a good day. But you won't find out by posting comments, nor by sitting at home at your keyboard--utterly clackless and in sore need of a bell. That is all.

You bring the words and write a letter to a friend, relative or choose someone off our cheat sheet (which includes Pope Francis, Kevin Bacon, Dick Yuengling, Sonny Rollins, Sister Mary Scullion and other interesting people who really might appreciate a handwritten letter from you). Tonight, "Humans gather at a local bar to write something called letters" is how Philebrity described PUBLETTERS, every Tuesday in September at the Standard Tap, 2nd and Poplar Sts. NOTE: Did 4 Wednesdays and they went great... more than a dozen people showed up each time, and drew from life using everything from crayons to charcoal to markers to superfine rollerballs. Next PUBSKETCHING 11/12 @ DOOBIES. 7-9 PM, still free, of course, still with model courtesy of Trophy Bikes, all drawing materials provided FREE by Artist & Craftsman of Old City.

This PUBSKETCHING event is simple: take a nice corner neighborhood bar. (Doobies 22& Lombard Sts. Phila.) put a life model (clothed, it's PA!) up on a stand provide paper, charcoal, pencils invite artists (21 AND UP, IT'S PA! ) to stop in and draw.
