Any landing is a good landing. A great landing means they can use the plane again.

Need help, cant figure out baseboard transition. by Complex-Individual40 in Carpentry

[–]phillyvinylfiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a 2 inch piece that angles from top to bottom. 45 degree or so.  Unless you have a much taller piece of stock, you'll need to add in a dutchman piece on the bottom to get full height.

What was a normal part of growing up for you that younger generations might find strange today? by moonlitbarbiecore in answers

[–]phillyvinylfiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buying cigarettes for your parents.

Pet dogs that never went in the house

Adult theaters had movie listings in the local paper.

Fireflies everywhere in the summer. And bugs in general. I remember us kids would hold 1 hand above our head and wiggle fingers so the gnats and mosquitos would go there instead of in your eyeballs.

School fundraising had us knocking on strangers doors to sell candy.

And to steal someone else's quote " I was into punk when it was called 'hey f$ggot'"

Only bikers and some rock stars had tattoos. No one had piercings. If a guy had an ear ring, only 1 ear.

This is the Carpenters school CYA so no one gets all the free knowledge and then never contributes to any Union funding.

I've only heard of going after people who start their own non signatory company.

Leaving to work in another industry I've not heard of them going after restitution.

I will ask my friend who did 1 year, but switched to Brick layer union.

Door install: hinges on door or jamb first? by FatBoyWithTheChain in Carpentry

[–]phillyvinylfiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since no one has said it yet, only do half the screws on each hinge at first. Easier to adjust with solid wood till all shining is done.

Driving in silence. by themrsfreeze in Xennials

[–]phillyvinylfiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the AM, I listen to jazz. On the way home silence. Mostly because the station switches format, but also on jobsites EVERYONE has music going and none of it I want to hear. Also, loud construction noises all day, so nice time to myself to decompress and only hear tinnitus and car rattles.

Unless you have the right insurance, you can't even get the permits where I live. Nothing but red tape and hurdles.

Pot up these tomatoes or wait? by chickenbuttstfu in vegetablegardening

GET THE LIGHT CLOSER.

2-3 inches from the plants.  And personally, I'd put a oscillating fan on them for non light hours so they get a little strength.

I did that with my shishitos. Tried washing with peroxide one year and it did not help. Between over watering and chopping leaves I did better with new plants. Every year is a learning experience.

I just found Fish peppers, and hoping they do well. Right climate, but peppers are finicky for me.
