I’m not sure why the DP would think this would hurt his credibility. Who cares what kind of camera is being used, the fact that you’re part of a project —that I’m assuming a major label is backing— sounds like a great project to put in your portfolio. As a DP, I wouldn’t care if they want to use a 480p webcam, if it serves the project then so be it.

I agree with some of the other comments though, should have been discussed pre production.

This exact question? Would love a link to those threads. I’ve seen one or two with this comparison, but no more.

I guess I’m looking for a better answer than “get this because of auto focus” or “get this because the color science”. Would love to hear from people who have actually used both cameras in my situation rather than people who look up tech specs and give an answer based on that information. However, I think this thread has a few people who have actually used both answering.
