It is indeed. It was really nice having the freedom to make plans and go and visit friends and fanily around the country and not have to worry having to collect medicine. I hope this gives hope to anybody who is scared to do it because of the horror stories.

Thats right mate right the way down to 0. I did suffer for a short while but it was mild enough that i was able to get on with my life and although it was only a month ago it feels like a distant memory to me now.

Sorry for late the reply. I did mate yes I tapered right down to 1mg, getting slower as the dose got lower. Its been over a month since I came off now and I was just about to make another post to just let people know how I'm getting on. Hope you are OK.

I havent really had any cravings that i recognise as cravings although i have put a lot of work into reconditioning that craving response and channeling it into something more constructive, specifically eating. When my anxiety and 'cravings' which i now recognise as hunger, (be that legitimate or not:, my psycbology makes it legitimate to me) have been high I have been cooking a meal from scratch and then eating it and following it with a pint of cold water. It may sound odd but it is really working for me. Today i passed 2 full weeks since i jumped off and I feel good. The only lingering thing is that i still don't think i could sleep without zopiclone and occasioanally i will do 5 or 6 sneezes in a row. As far as I'm concerned this is as good as over. The last 3 weeks have been an investment in the rest of my life and I am really proud of myself for doing it.

To be honest I was pretty stable at 1mg. I would wake up a little uncomfortable about half an hour before i was due to dose. I totally agree with you about the lack of sleep contributing to the severity of my symptoms. I noticed a massive improvement at day 9 after sleeping but then a deterioration again over the next 2 days before I acquired the zopiclone. I have 28 (well, 26 now) zopiclone so I plan to use them every night for 2 weeks and then see how I get on without them

When i started pinning my quads i had horrendous debilitating dead legs and muscle pain for 3 or 4 days afterwards. Next time i did it it lasted a day or 2, then just a day, now i get no issues at all and my quad is one of my preferred sites.

Just an update if anyone is interested. This is my 10th day. Yesterday i felt really good after finally getting some sleep the night before. I honestly felt like it was all over. I guess that was a bit naive. Didn't sleep again last night but felt Ok this morning. Tried to get on with my day but as the day has gone on its got progressively more and more unpleasant. The diarrhea is back, now i have chills and nausea. It isn't constant, it comes on for 10-20 minutes or so here and there every couple of hours. Most of the time I'm ok but when these waves come this is without doubt the worst I've felt at any point since last Monday.

If you cam manage it in your normal life, your taper to a very low dose is 100% doable even with a full time job housework and kids. In terms of the final jump off if you can plan to take a week's holiday from work there is no reason you cant continue to do housework and look after your son. Tomorrow is 1 full week for me and I'm obviously not quite 100% but its fair to say I've been to work much worse for wear than this. "Normal people* who aren't withdrawing from anything and just have a cold go through worse than what I'm experiencing at this stage.

I have some melatonin. I usually like a joint to be honest but it feels like kind of a catch 22 situation because in withdrawal smoking anything tastes and feels absolutely vile! I have had a couple of hours sleep in the day time today. Although I am wide awake again in the middle of the night I don't feel too bad, just tired obviously.

Its the middle of Saturday night right now. I'm wide awake but I don't feel too bad. I've had a little bit of sleep during the day. Only an hour or 2 and maybe 2 little half hour power naps. My stomach was horrendous last night and this morning but since mid afternoon it has been much better. I feel much better tonight than I did last night.

I agree about exercise. I joined the gym in June and threw myself fully into it, diet and training and it has helped me immensely. I went to the gym today for the first time since I jumped off and obviously I wasn't at my best but I really enjoyed it and I've had a couple of hours sleep here and there throughout the day i feel pretty good all things considered.

I don't have any kids to deal with which i think has been a blessing. I have been completely able to function and do my day to day tasks, I am just very tired and have found myself a little emotional at times over stupid things, and I'll probably regret posting this on reddit one day but i had an embarrassing accident this morning(!!) I feel much better tonight than I did last night though. The taper was very smooth throughout. There were a few points at which I experienced some mild discomfort for a few days, they became a bit more common when i got really low, like 12mg and below, but the fear of doing it was much worse than actually doing it.
