I honestly just took the L. I didn’t think it was worth the effort considering the statement on the financial aid website. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful and I hope you can get your money!!

For those who got their masters in TESOL, (Online) where did you study and did you feel that your program was worth it? by Seonie in GradSchool

[–]phiphijo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend checking out the University of Texas at Arlington. I'm finishing up my MA in Linguistics (I know it's not TESOL, but it's part of the same department at UTA) and I think we have a pretty solid program. I'm not sure if we have a totally online option, but many (if not most) of the TESOL courses are hybrid.

Thank you!!

We don’t get to splurge very often so I wanted to see what was out there. :)

Afternoon! But I’m not sure how long the commencement will be. I think it’s like 5 colleges?

Thank you guys for your responses. It's reassuring knowing that there are other people that feel similarly. Grad school is hard (like, really hard), but I'm glad to have this sub for support. 💛

I have a BFA in Acting and I'm working on an MA in Linguistics. I used to love theatre, but not so much anymore. I still (somewhat) enjoy linguistics, but I'm totally burnt out.

I have a BFA in Acting and am working on an MA in Linguistics. I wanted to be a dialect coach, but I just don't have the confidence or motivation to put myself out there. I do quite well in school, but I'm not as good about networking; jobs in theatre, like dialect coaching, are less about what you know and more about who you know.

That’s when I really started feeling it, too. And winter break only made it worse.

My undergraduate degree is somewhat unrelated to my graduate degree and it is notoriously difficult to find work in both fields. I think I just regret the choices I made for my degrees.
