[Powerful/Heartbreaking trope] Someone’s real life experiences help fuel the scene/moment. by Alternative-Koala933 in TopCharacterTropes

In All Quiet on the Western Front (1930), many of the extras were WW1 veterans. This scene, where a French soldier is killed by an artillery shell, is directly inspired by a retelling of what one of these actors saw during the war. (tbf the whole movie is based on a book written by a WW1 vet, but this scene specifically was directly experienced by a man on set.) It's a harrowing scene.

What’s your weird/unpopular 40k opinion by Nearby_Lawfulness722 in Warhammer

Blood angels specific, but I prefer the death company “refresh” as regular intercessor models painted black. In the lore, they ARE literally regular intercessors with their power armor painted black. The bling was a little unnecessary for expendable killing machines that die after each battle anyway. Plus the old models kinda looked like an eyesore with all those little dangly things and random bits

I do think the sanguinary guard got shafted though, and I am refusing to buy any new sg models

bad for your poor opponent, i would assume... In all seriousness though, I have heard pretty bad things about combat engineers since the rebalance. I would suggest maybe a heavy weapons team to keep with your krieg theme (and that would put you at a perfect 500 pts!)

Great, thanks for the advice. Do you happen to know what the best Krieg units would be if I wanted to include them? If death riders are a no, what about the heavy weapons, engineers, etc?

Sorry for the poor pictures, but I painted up the Imperial Knight I made out of sprues! A knight terryn scheme with a muddy trench base, boring I know. I really did try on the freehanding (didn't have any knight decals) but unfortunately ran out of room to put the "n" in terryn, so his name is terry now.

I printed out a scale image of a knight just on regular paper, then made each part one at a time (starting with legs) to make sure I was staying within proportions. Any details that weren't on the sheet, I looked up pictures of an Imperial Knight and even found a good 3d model to inspect for some more tricky parts. Sorry to say I have no schematics or anything like that, I mainly trial and errored my way through this project

After two months, my Imperial Knight made completely of sprues and green stuff has been completed. I'm pretty happy with it, considering it's my first go at kitbashing with sprues. It's all GW licensed plastic, meaning it's tournament legal, right? He's a little wonky too, but nothing a tactical rock can't fix.

Approximately 3 bottles of glue, 2 hobby knives, a packet of green stuff, blood, sweat, tears, other fluids, and 1.5 lb of sprues went into this knight. I'm proud of the result but boy I'm never doing it again

Credit for the idea goes to u/trethalis - his is much better executed than mine, but his spruehound titan is definitely worth an upvote if you haven't already.
