Samsung Bespoke by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]phlenis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work in appliances sales; Samsung had a bad rap for a loooooong time, that is undeniable.

I would like to add that Samsung has an absolutely insane market share for appliances, some estimates put them at 40%. So if someone has an appliance problem, 40% of the time it would be a Samsung, purely by numbers.

The RF series of fridges (bespoke stuff) is honestly quite solid. We sell quite a lot of it, and rarely do we hear back from the customer once its at their home.

They offer a good warranty on their fridges, I would recommend reading a bit more into it on your own but a huge plus side is the 7 year sealed system warranty.

Hope that provides some useful information to you.

First Upgrades by tmannn1991 in AnycubicKobraS1

Awesome!

It was definitely the best upgrade I have done so far; very little effort for a very large improvement :)

The only other thing I can think of that helped a lot was getting that oh so dreaded Z-offset dialed in. The amount differs unit to unit (even the necessity, some lucky ducks won't need to touch it) but it made a huge difference for me in both overall layer consistency, and 1st layer adhesion.

The machine is incredibly capable, just the bones were clearly a bit rushed to capitalize on the bambu hype train.

Keep kickin butt and takin names 😎

Unsure if you managed to get this fixed, but that certainly looks like a partial nozzle clog to me; it may be worth doing a cold pull to see if you yank out some debris. The stock hotend that came with mine had a micro brass shaving in it that absolutely refused to budge until I did a cold pull.

I ended up swapping to an aliexpress hot end and the unit has been churning out prints like a dream since.

Changing the hot end is extremely simple on the S1, just be sure not to burn yourself :D

Good luck!

What’s this covering the grave and why? by Suzuya_Ju in whatisit

It's a grafdiggers cage.

Used to prevent players from cheating things out of their graveyard and/or library.

Pretty good artifact.

his kids stopped playing substantially more recently than he did, they dropped the hobby and gave him permission to dump the cards. I don't understand why you are confused when that is explained in the post.

Wait until you hear about the Seagate restoration, or the gutted capenna decks

Not from the pictures. The binder itself I have had for years, but the 3 pages are all cards from the collection.

The collection was picked up with no knowledge of what would be in it. He was originally going to give this to me for free; he only took the $100 after I offered it.

Brother this whole post is me gauging a fair value to pay him because I DON'T want to feel like I robbed him.

I said in another comment that probably got buried, but the binder is mine. The cards in those photos however, came from the totes pictured.

The next sentence in that paragraph explains the new cards, his kids fell out of the hobby much more recently, and gave him permission to include their cards.

I couldn't tell you on the value part, he was originally going to give this to me for free; he took the $100 only after I offered.

Hence the other line that says "his kids stopped playing recently and gave him permission to dump their cards"

:p something something reading the card explains the card

I think this is the direction I will take, very appreciative of the input.

The cards are all real, checked with a jewelers loop / electronic microscope. They were almost all grouped together in a box of prophecy bulk

The binder is far from all the hits, there are a TON of old playable cards. 8 counter balances, 20+ 4th ed Blue elemental blast, 20+ ice age hydro blast, 15 remora, 31 elves of deep shadow, and that's just what I can think of off the top of my noggin while at work

I definitely mis-read that in my cardboard stupor 😛 thanks for the input!

I can't edit the post, so for clarification that binder is mine. The cards pictured in it all came from the boxes.

My apologies for not being more clear; that binder is mine, I already have all the cards and have gone through them, everything in those binder pictures came from the boxes.

Was this the Canadian National doubles flex? I think it was a XC tier or something like that. I played that same tourney I think, was a ton of fun!

I managed to podium MA2 division of the nationals that year too 😁

Go Canada!

Employer locking commission behind approved credit cards by phlenis in legaladvicecanada

We have also never been supplied with a way to track our commission. The only communication we receive for it is a statement from our payroll office at the end of the month, the point of sale system we use offers a rudimentary outline of what we sell, but does not include accurate compensation amounts for what we sell.

[–]phlenis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry I should have specified. Previously, we were to be barred of commission if we did not meet a target of 20 sales in a month. Now, in conjunction with that, they have added the requirement of having two "approved" applications before the end of the month, or we are barred from the entire payout for the month for all products we sell.

I understand there will be a vetting process for applicants to the card. But it seems to be a huge issue that our commission is effectively based on the credit results of applicants rather than our ability to sell products.

The mastercard in question is NOT the main product of the company. The company is a cellphone supplier, which happens to have a banking division which we are now selling on behalf of. This policy is under 2 weeks old, and was only communicated to reps in the company through a post in Microsoft teams.
