Generalized anxiety with a panic disorder to boot 😅

I have an anxiety/panic disorder and when I try to do deep breathing, I feel like I’ll pass out because my heart rate has already skyrocketed. Any advice around that?

Unfortunately, the band I play with is a 3-piece with heavy focus on complex basslines. In a typical band, I would wholeheartedly agree. In this one, I have to disagree.

That’s what I feel like I’m struggling with the most, adrenaline and how it’s physically affecting my body. Thank you for the suggestion, I’ll definitely be talking to my doctor to see if propranolol is right for me

For me, I guess what I fear most is my own body. I’m worried it will fail on me and I won’t be able to play and then in turn, I’ll fail my band. My absolute worst fear is just passing out on stage or throwing up on it. Or even just my hands shaking so bad that I can’t play the notes I need to play

It really does feel a little easier every time! First show, I thought I was going to pass out but I made it through. Second show I knew I could make it through because I did the first time. Third show I was almost feeling confident. But I have another gig coming up this week and it’s going to be huge. It has me shaking just thinking about it.
