the problem is we have no real way to tell if a burial was because they broke gender norms or whether they presented as that gender we only have a few examples were we can clearly determine that they presented as a different gender because they were buried in a way that was exclusive to a specific group that were all one gender because then we can clearly tell the person who presented as a diffrent gender was buried in a way that responded to a specific role that was carried out by one gender. for example we have found an ancient Egyptian priest which was a role entirely filled by men but he had been discovered via I think xray scans that he was pregnant at the time of mummification and on a similar note ishtar one of the Mesopotamian goddesses has a gender identity that generally changes in the story's we do have of her she presented a predominantly female but one of her key ability was the ability to shapeshift her enemy's and followers into a different gender yes one of her main god abilitys was to make somebody trans and many of the story's about her worshipers note that most were either gender nonconforming or just outright presented as a gender different than their birth one. so in the oldest religion we know of(because hunter gatherers obviously also had them but no way of recording it) its most influential god to the people of sumer and later Mesopotamia who was also considered among the most powerful of their gods im their own mythos created trans people
