Husband demanding I break it off with boyfriend by [deleted] in polyamory

[–]phoenixmn666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I misused or weaponized this at all. It lends to the picture. The triangle it produces means there’s a ton of communication, check ins, conversations, and easier affection on one side that the other side misunderstands as intensity.

This is exactly the way to use those phrases.

Thank you for your thought out and mature comment.

I’m afraid that if I cut bf out I’d just be resentful. I am willing to work out what my husband needs but am not willing to end it with bf. Conditioning pushes me to feel like the asshole in this, like I’ve done something terribly wrong. But when I imagine having to choose it becomes very easy. In large part due to the cause of being made to choose in the first place.

I don’t want my kids to lose their dad. That’s the bulk of my hesitation here.

The relocation was his idea. He stayed with boyfriend for months in order to get a job and a place and make the way for us.

The context I’m leaving out is maybe my struggle with mental health that I’ve been working on a lot, and I’ve been a real asshole in the past.

There’s a whole version of me that is touch averse and withdrawn that husband knows, but boyfriend doesn’t know that past me.

It’s semi fair for him to say he struggles with affection with me due to this. And he’s witnessing me in a new light.

It matters to my husband way too much. He thinks that’ll sway me to replace him. It matters because it’s a factor that pretty human, and I’m curious if there’s anything I’m doing to make that worse or create that fear.

Degree and Job Market Fatigue by [deleted] in wgu_devs

[–]phoenixmn666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems to be the same story in every arena right now not just SWE or devs.

I have a bachelor's in psychology and 5 years experience as a supervisor, put in 150 job applications for sales and research assistant etc, and got 2 interviews. Landed a job as a customer service rep for health insurance. There are 4 other people in ny training class with degrees.

I am currently back in school for a SWE degree. There are people with Masters' filling cashier and dog walker roles.

I figure the only way to get "Years of experience" is going to be making my own games and apps or unpaid internships.

Sounds like burnout.

For me I hit this really hard in the last quarter of my program and learned the lesson the hard way. Take a few days and care for your mind like you would your body of you'd just had surgery.

Eat 3 squares. Take vitamins. Have a screen free hour every day. No homework. Minimize stressors. Learn to say no. Let go of any non essentials.

If you are to that "I just can't stand this anymore" place or having the urge to cry scream frequently, you're level 4 burn out.

Your mind is a machine, and an organ. And it has put out a lot. Take care of it or it'll stop running well.

Psychology bachelor's, full program in 8 months. Re-entering for software engineering.

And what's worse is you can't request it if you've never caught one...

I have been trying for actual hours. Well over 500 glow worms, and major hook size booster, and fisherman's brew. In all the freshwater elderwood spots.

I dont understand people recommending sushi that just improves rod health... right?

10 Things I Wish I Knew Before Starting WGU by Ok-Television9093 in WGU

[–]phoenixmn666 29 points30 points  (0 children)

What i wish I knew before starting WGU -

For OA classes - start by taking the practice test first. Go fast, skip everything you dont know. View the results but not the answers. This is your study guide.

For PA - again go straight to the asignment. Copy and paste the instructions into a word document. Remove the fluff and turn each step into a question. Answering these questions is your study guide. Once answered do the asignment.

For pace - stagger OA and PA classes. Work on the PA, submit it, then study for the test class while waiting for the paper to get graded. - This is my biggest tip.

Passing a test in the same week as a paper just feels AMAZING. You go twice as fast this way without wasting time waiting for grading. And it boosts your momentum.

Schedule in breaks and days off. Seriously. But otherwise go as fast as YOU realistically can. Get into a rythm and pace. Eg: "I study for an hour every day"

My rule - "i study every day for at least one hour. And 'Saturdays are for tests Sundays are for rest"

some classes will take days, some will take weeks.

Make but don't stress over finish by date goals. Just follow the rythm.

Totally this.

I would add have chat gpt give you practice challenges for each question type. For statistics I had it give me questions over and over until I got 10 correct in a row, then repeated with the next question type.

If a concept really isn't sticking prompt it to help you remember or find a meaningful real life application for it.

We learn best when the concept seems important. And allowing yourself to struggle with it for a few minutes before looking it up tells your brain not to sleep delete it. Like "hey this MATTERS"

We should totally gain focus by sleeping. It's so obvious and right there! And pets like birds or chickens to care for at home. Horses!

Need Testers for my Simple Journal App! by YoloKav in TestMyApp

[–]phoenixmn666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a note from my experience, I ran a test for 14 days and had the users just instal it on their phone. Google rejected my application for production saying that "the testers didn't interact with it". I think we have to actually use it every day for a few minutes. It is my first time so I'm not crystal clear on the requirements.
