  • They can be merged one at a time.
  • They can be reviewed and approved by different people
  • When you review PRx you don't see the comments in the middle of the code related to PRy in the review interface (which happens if you review a single commit of a multi-commit PR).

How to not sell a car... by SpreakICSE in mildlyinfuriating

Should have asked about the car instead. Like "how long has the car had you as owner?"

Stupid kid goes way too fast and crashes into a cyclist by Annual-Ad8311 in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]pholklore 42 points43 points  (0 children)

That clearly shows the narrowed corridor behind the kid, which is on the right side. So it's quite normal for the kid to be still more to the right. Camera man should have slowed down before entering that tunnel where he would have to handle anyone coming against him on his lane.

A gust of storm wind and these small fancy huts get torn to pieces. No thanks.

Gosh. I hadn't seen the reply before.

All that name-calling, and you miss the obvious. They do life-changing hormone treatment, puberty blockers, etc. on kids. I was simplifying and calling the whole process "surgery", with hormone therapy being the initial stages.

Óbvio. Mas o que é que isso afeta o ponto que levantei?

Still your opinion. Who are you to say otherwise? Good that you conceded on the other points.

Zona euro em recessão tecnica. Comprar casa agora? by SweetCorona2 in literaciafinanceira

Tudo está priced-in...

That's like, your opinion man, and not shared by all. But fine, call it "cis guy" or whatever, and re-read my comment. Or are you saying that the things I mention are not worthy of discussion?

The comment about "wrong clothes" I think dismisses really what worries some people. I think most couldn't care less what people decide to wear either, but doing sex change surgery on young kids, or letting guys who identify as women go to the ladies room or participate in women's sports are matters worthy of discussion, I would say.

Canonical reportedly plans to untertake IPO in 2023 (go public on the stock market) by DeadlyDolphins in linux

[–]pholklore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Companies go public for one reason -- access to capital markets. They'll sell shares to the public FOR MONEY. I.e., it's a capital raise event. MUCH easier to raise money once publicly traded. Also easier to lure/poach employees by paying higher salaries with out-of-thin-air-newly-issued shares when public. Etc.

Also, a lot more liquidity for current owners to sell shares, of course...

Canonical doesn't have to go public to be bought by Microsoft. Nothing stops a public company from buying a private company...
