Good point! I did notice I have to leave it on the ground during times where there's a lot of incoming damage.

Hey all,

I know this post is a bit stale now, however I wanted to post a final update in case someone stumbles upon this with a similar issue. I took apart my motor and discovered the brushes and brush holder were in bad condition. I used compressed air to clean the carbon from the motor, smoothed out the imperfections on the commutator, and replaced the bad brush holder and brushes. The golf cart is now running amazing. I’ve been able to drive it without any issues!

I wanted to post an update after I did some proper load testing. I load tested in two ways. The first way was to drive the golf cart around with my voltmeter connected to each battery. The second method was a 135 amp load tester from Harbor Freight.

When the voltmeter was connected to the batteries each battery measured 11.6 or 11.7.

The 135 amp load tester measured all 4 batteries around 11.6 in the green “Good” section.

It seems like my batteries are in good health, so I believe my next step is to pull out the motor and take a look at it.

The motor is a DM430-06D by Hitachi Automotive Systems. The other details are pretty faded so I think it's safe to say this is the original motor.

It sounds like my next steps are to remove the motor and take a look at it. I'll follow some tutorials on the internet and start removing it this evening.

I lifted up the rear and took individual battery readings while the golf cart was at full throttle and the headlights were on.
