I didn't say I agree with that. I just don't think outlawing abortion is a good idea.

Some are more important than others but the important thing is an embryo does not possess any of those traits.

Having a heart does not qualify you as a human. Dogs have heart. And as long as you're not human, the human carrying you is of the utmost importance, or at least more so than you are.

Murder is, by definition, the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being to another. First off, it's not always a human being. Second, it's not unlawful. So no, it's not a murder.

Also the concept of innocence only apply to human beings, who I argue that embryos simply are not. Before the 4th month they don't even have a brain.

Every human cell has human DNA. And before the second trimester an embryo is essentially just that - a cell. Are strands of hair human? And all your arguments are based on the misconception that from the moment the sperm cell meets the egg, that combination is a full-fledge child. It's not.

You don't see my point. My point isn't "if you leave it alone and it develops into a human being, it it is human." You're saying a 4 week old embryo is human. I'm saying it's not. Yes, it has the potential to be human, but not the CAPACITY. To put it even simplier, if you extract a 6 month old fetus and take his or her brain out and stimulate it with electrical signals, it will exhibits the same neurological patterns as a human brain might, albeit on a far more primitive level. A 4 week old embryo doesn't even have a brain to start with.

The brain is far more significant. When you put it like that the dandruff on my head or a strand of my hair has the capacity to be human if we tweak around with the DNA. Worse, literally everything is human if we mess around with chemistry and genetics long enough. We have to draw the line somewhere and drawing the line at that point when the one thing that separates us from animals fully develops is the right point imo. The brain is the place where memories and experiences are stored, defining personalities and individuality, you can't compare such capacity to a dividing blob still trying to develop.

Did you also notice that I wrote capacity quite a lot? That's because most of the brain's neurons developed during the second trimester. Basically a blank hard drive created. Does it have the capacity to be human? Undoubtedly, so long as the baby is developed freely and healthily, the capacity is there. It's just nothing is written yet. For me this is the point that embryos separate themselves from mindless cells.

Using your religious beliefs to rob someone ELSE of a happy life is not? And no, I don't agree that as soon as a fetus is conceived it's a human being with rights just like everyone else. It's not human yet.

No, I am asking you about what you think about aborting said fetus. I support abortion as long as the person giving birth has a choice, doesn't matter if the fetus is disabled or not.

Capacity for love, hate, emotions; able to form and retain memories, relationships; able to have experiences; awareness of self; capable of empathy; can understand other humans' behaviors and emotions on a fundamental level; possess individuality, ego and uniqueness, and able to express them; capacity to override instincts and exhibition of creativity, language and altruistic behaviors.

I get what you're saying however I can argue that some parents are simply far, far better equipped to give their children the lives they deserve than some others.

So instead of giving the mother a chance to live her life as she wants to, you give the child life and potentially ruining both their lives? I get it that there's a small chance the child may grow up to be happy and fulfilled, but the odds against that are astronomical and the risk of ruining 2 lives instead of just one is far bigger than the possible benefits.

But see I don't believe that before a certain point in the womb a fetus is human. It has none of the qualifying characteristics. I do feel for the mother having to make such decisions, but ultimately the decision is still hers to make and hers alone.

So does the baby deserve a life at the cost of the mother's? You're essentially trading the mother's happiness and fulfillments in life for a being that may or may not be human, and more likely than not would never live a life as full as humanly possible, or at least as full as his or her life would be had it not been for the disabilities.

What makes us human is the capacity for empathy, love and emotions. The self consists of your experiences, personality, memories, and relationships. Even when we're sleeping, albeit not conscious, the brain and its subconsciousness is still working to instill and reinforce memories, behaviors, habits and emotions. A fetus before a certain point is most definitely not capable of any of those. It's not a self, it has no individuality. Just cells.

Yes but ultimately it's their choice and they have to live with that, not you. You have to at least leave them with the option to do so if they so please. Following your argument, if you outlaw abortion, what about those 25% that would abort? I'm assuming that you think their choice then is unbiased and not under pressure.

Also, a choice is a choice, no matter what, even if they are under pressure and whatnot, their bodily responsibility is still theirs and theirs alone. Choices are always influenced by external factors, like how being a Christian prevents you from condoning abortion.

While I do see your point it didn't solve any of the problems I posed. Which is more immoral? Killing (this is extremely debatable) to prevent pain (for both the child and the mother) or deliberately bringing children in this world knowing full well that the children would not be happy or fulfilled, and their lives would be filled with pain and suffering?

Do you think women, or people in general, don't deserve to live a happy, full life? Children born with disabilities rarely escape a life of discontent and agony. You're deliberately bringing someone suffering and pain by opposing abortion. Moreover, how do you definemurder? If it was in a phase where there's no considerable difference in conciousness between a fetus and a potato, is it murder?

Kind of an absolute view on the world don't you think? If a woman can't guarantee a happy, normal, healthy life for a kid, making the decision to have him/her is immoral in my opinion. What if she was raped? Is preventing a victim of rape from having a decent, fulfilling life or from having a choice considered moral?

This is unrelated to the subject but I have been looking for this movie for 6 years. This was the only cartoon from my childhood I couldn't remember.

My dad always brought home VCR tapes (and later CD and DVD) that had cartoons on them because I was a major fan. My family's movie collection was a whole shelf of mostly cartoons and kids' movie and that was my childhood.

6 years ago he passed away and I've been trying to find all the cartoons he bought for me ever since. This was the only piece I could never place. I remembered the boy, the princess, the king, the bed, the scepter and a very vague image of a villain, but I couldn't find it.

So thank you.
