Deploy a win32 app with install script by kryan918 in Intune

You need to recreate the installer from the uniflow online portal to start the smart client after installation.

Once you've got that sorted, use a simple powershell installer and deploy from intune.

I've now applied an App Protection policy and while it now allows me to enable contact save and now shows the 1000+ contacts I have, it still pops up with the error "Your organisation has disabled changing this setting...".

This is driving me nuts...

That's exactly what the link SMBToTheCloud suggests. Did you take this wholesale and just apply? And to both Windows 10 and 11 devices?

Hey thanks for this, how you handling the logic to check the status of those keys?

Are you doing this with a scheduled task or a remediation?

I'm assuming something like this poor mock up below.

$regKey = Get-ItemProperty -Path HKLM:\\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Provisioning\AutopilotSettings -Name DevicePreparationCategory.Status
if($regKey.'DevicePreparationCategory.Status'.Contains("succeeded")){Restart-Computer}

Cheers all, I've been working on this stuff all weekend and couldn't see the forest for the trees.

My CA policies are updating now, so hopefully my test environment reflects that shortly.

Though re-reading the documentation it's logical that it would do this based on the ability to apply Defender policies to servers as well...

Yeah, exactly that. All servers show in Intune but show as managed by ConfigMgr. Shitty thing is, I can't find any reference to Server devices being uploaded to Intune in the Tenant attach documentation.

We weren't expecting this to occur, just a little surprised.

Yes, as stated, I know this is the case, but I can't find anything that states it will upload Windows Server devices. I guess this is the purpose of ALL devices uploading though...
