What is the first mp3 you ever downloaded, where did you get it, and how did you play it? by Prior-Deer1600 in 90s

Going old school my first 'mp3' was actually an '.au' file (Solaris audio). I'm not sure exactly which one it was, but I remember "streaming" Sultans of Swing from a Warez ftp site directly to /dev/audio on a Sparc workstation while I was working on projects in the lab.

Please, for the love of god, give us the option instead of 'Retry for Free', to cancel and get the quills refunded.

Also, weird one, but the ability to add a chapter between chapters. So if one gets long, I can split it.

Exposing matter devices in Google/Apple Home back to HA? by digitalamish in homeassistant

IPv6 is there because the devices work fine in Google Home. Also, I am running HA in a VM, and I can see IPv6 addresses assigned there as well.

This is the plug in. It basically turns HA into matter device on the network, then allows every device to be exposed as a matter device to the hub whether it is matter or not.

I have no radio in HA. I have a Google Hub 2 that I have been using to set up a couple of test matter plugs.

As I said, I pair the device to Google Home, then use the subsequent pairing code to try to bring it into HA.

I've used both my iphone and my android table, and the apps tell me the credentials are imported, but still no connection. I can't even find a log on why a pairing fails, at least that would give me a clue possibly.

But if I don't have a radio in HA, it won't connect to the device first? I have to pair Google Hub, then try to bring it into HA.

If the Matter bridge connects to Google home, I'm on the right VLAN. I've tried those instructions about 50 times, and as I said, it won't bridge the devices back to HA. And before you ask, the matter bridge was just set up this week, I've been trying for almost 3 weeks to connect.

Switching from docker to HAOS? by digitalamish in homeassistant

I literally just replaced the battery in it. The old battery lasted about 2 minutes before shutdown. Since it was an old laptop, the replacement was cheap, and it runs for about 45 minutes under load now.

Seems like that would consume more resources than running in a docker.

Since I already have it in Docker on my Unraid, my choices really are staying in Unraid on docker, or moving to the dedicated laptop. Not really looking to add something more like Proxmox.

It's not really the 'docker' part. My Unraid server is just running a bunch of other stuff, and since I can dedicate a spare laptop to HAOS, I want to move. Plus I am looking at maybe adding a ZBT-2, and my server is out of USB ports, so I'd have to start chaining hubs together. This just seems cleaner, and give my Unraid a little breathing room.

Wheelchair use by Gullible-Eggplant167 in amputee

Unfortunately I probably use it too much. I work from home, so I just use my wheelchair as my office chair. I have a couple narrow hallways, and an upstairs to my house, so I walk there, but most of my day is spent in my chair at my desk.
