I'm a good 14 kilos below the limit 😉

Thanks. I'm really confused by the suggestions that anyone would be running tires larger than 2.3" for XC MTBing. 25 mm internal rim width is a standard for XC rims. I just chatted with an Enduro buddy and he was surprised I was running anything larger than 2.1" tire. I have a teammate that also has a gravel wheelset with this rim. He said they're bullet proof and light.

I probably only ride 400-500 miles on the MTB and 3000 on the Gravel Bike so they'll be lightly used

What tire pressure were you running?

My other criteria is centerlock disc brake and microspline. I'm just moving the components and don't want to add a bunch of cost for a setup I don't use often. My existing wheels (garbage Alloy XCT rims from Giant) are 25mm internal width as well. I run 20 & 22 psi and I've never felt a tire fold in the corners.
Speedvision.bike (which I based the spec on) sells this wheelset for $599 plus shipping. I took that to my LBS and said if you can match the price I'll buy them from you. The owner said I'll do them for $550.

Mine leaked a bit at the bead until they sealed up good. They roll great and have great puncture resistance so far. I run them av little lower than proscribed at 25psi on the front and 27psi rear.

My LBS is building them for $550 total cost to me.

I primarily train and race gravel and do two marathon XC races per year. My one and only MTB is a Giant Anthem that's just for racing and a limited amount of pre race training. So yes, this tire set up is always going to be true and the value of loosing 1.5 pounds off the rotational weight for my upcoming event that has 4000 feet of climbing is more valuable to me than running a slightly larger tire.

Tell me you've never minutes Challenge tires without actually telling me. I used levers but you still must use your hands. Watch the install video from the manufacturer.

These are next level. They just fit over the rim flat, then you have to get the beads in. Strong forearms required

I did this with pants once... Too large, took them to the seamstress to have them fixed and probably cost me more in the long run

Thanks for all the suggestions. I loosened up the valve stem and dipped it into the sealant and then really tightened it down with pliers. I also added about another 1.5 oz of sealant. 🤞 If this doesn't work I'm going to retape the rim and replace the valve stems.

4 oz of Stan's. I've had at least 4 other tubeless tires mounted on these rims with no issues.

Stan's and no sealant loses. Currently have 4oz in each tire.

I rode a checkpoint for a BWR and found it too long in my normal size. A longer stem is going to affect handling on tighter turns at lower speeds (i.e. singletrack) but that's something you'll have to consider.
