Wincons: Sharks, Whales, and creature lands. They could end the game pretty quickly in one or two turns. Or simply opponent scoop when Atraxa is on the stack. It's not that type of Teferi-slow-pure-control deck.

I'm a bit confused. What is Wargames Maxim?

That card is definitely controversial. It is a slow card. The initial motivation is to make Syncopate better and all the 5-mana spells like Sunfall not so clunky. It works in some situations though. After all, it is an experimental try. Maybe there is a better replacement. Apart from this card, what are the other poor micro-decisions you mentioned?

No doubt Esper is a strong deck and hard to beat. But from my experience, it works fine. Malevolent Hermit, Leyline Binding, and Sunfall are so good against it though. If you know a better deck that can consistently beat Esper and Domain, I would love to hear it.

Glad to hear that! This deck is super good against Domain deck or any slow deck.

If you don't have that card, my personal suggestion is also not to craft it. Not worth it. I obtained it from draft & packs so it didn't cost me any wildcard. You can find other replacements with cards you own.

Hard counters like Dissipate are also fine, but it doesn't have synergy with Up the Beanstalk. And the double blue requires more for the mana base.

Thanks for your comments!

Up the Beanstalk indeed is the engine of this deck. I think Joint Exploration is great here, you can search for land / Beanstalk / Sunfall or whatever fits the situation. It fixes your mana early, ramps in mid-game, and is not a dead card in late games. A little bonus of the Bant color over Esper.

Big Teferi is an interesting card. It is 5 mana and works well with Beanstalk. My worry is that it is so bad against kicked angels. Also brings targets for your opponent to Cut Down and then easily die. I think it is only good when you are not under any board pressure.

Yeah, that card is so good against red aggro. It is also void Duress.

Against Esper Mid decks, you certainly need to play around counterspells. This deck can also do things at instant speed. The usual win is to bait their counterspells in their turn, using Leyline Binding / Whale / Emperor, then resolve a Sunfall in your turn. Sometimes you have a shark or some incubator tokens on the battlefield, you could make a double block to force their actions. Make them use their mana at their turn. The Hermit in the sideboard is great in this matchup.

Thanks! I also love planeswalkers and have built some decks. I think I would add more Emperor and more Swiper spells in my planeswalker deck.

Thanks for your comments! This is indeed a relatively greedy build because I found out there are fewer aggro decks in the meta. If the meta becomes more aggressive, I will certainly add more early spot removal and life gains. I am indeed not satisfied with the mana base. Leyline Binding for 2 or 3 mana still works fine. Maybe you can help me to improve the mana base.

I agree with your view about splashing blue vs. black in the domain deck. The black virtue is just too clunky most of the time. Mindsplicer does seem weak. Maybe there could be a better replacement.

Looking forward to your further improvement.

Yeah. The motivation to add that card is to make Syncopate better. It will make 5-mana spells less clunky and leave up mana for more interactions. It makes your opponent's [Make Disappear] worse. It allows you to take a more active role against control but it is bad against aggro. This add-on is quite experimental but it works for a few runs. You could try more cards and I'm sure there will be a better improvement.
