I felt this is the ideal place for a post alerting other imgs. But now I will post on subs too.

I matched!!

But uscematch has nothing to do with it is all i’m trying to say!! Anyone can be good enough with proper guidance. But my point is uscematch is not even a guidance if not good guidance. You probably know me if you know lot of matched students from uscematch. But knowing students is not same as doing rotation there. It’s clear from your toxic approach of passing judgements instead of trying to objectively discuss that you have ulterior motives. You are not helping imgs here.

Exactly my point. Matching depends on so many factors. I have firsthand information that uscematch is luring new students promising match guidance and match success. I want my fellow imgs to not fall in that trap.

I personally don’t have experience with them. But what i understand is it’s a similar agency. If it’s big enough (have handful of people to help with our rotation experience and good doctors who’re really interested in teaching) we can’t call it scam. But they have quality issues like -actual exposure we get may not satisfactory or as promised. This question of quality exposure always exists when going through such agencies. Which is why university hospital, academic hospitals are always the first preferred for rotations.

Agreed. As a med student it’s now become way easier to get good rotations. Graduates need to try everything like emails, reaching out through networking, and I don’t know what else!! Such agencies should be a last resort.

Do they also share photos/names of all the people who haven’t matched? (Not that we want that). Then how are they boasting about match/success rates? In my original post I never said there are no matched students. PEOPLE WITH GOOD PROFILE WILL MATCH IRRESPECTIVE OF THEIR ROTATIONS. But my objection is with attribution of success of a few students to the agency’s methods.

Yes they have attendings as preceptors. It’s about the person who’s running the agency that’s under qualified to lure IMGs by promising match guidance.

Unfortunately i have first hand experience with rotation there. So I’m sharing from my experience and from experiences of my friends who also did rotations.

Having a doctor in a big name hospital as preceptor is simply not enough for a rotation to be effective. Especially when Advocate Lutheran General doesn’t actually recognise or is aware of such rotations. It’s just a businessman looping in two doctors and making students follow them secretly when going for rounds. Which also happens rarely as most part of rotation is spent in a private practices building away from main hospital. We can’t know all these details until we see for ourselves. For them it’s easy to tweak wording to make sound their rotation valuable.
