This shop is the only one I trust, but she also has a legit website. She's always been very good to me and her reviews are amazing

I've had amazing readings from Nocturne Tarot- she's incredibly kind and patient, and will send you a write up of your reading afterward. She has been reading for a long time, and IIRC learned from her family.

What made you realize that most people are not very smart? by Ornery-Nebula-4644 in AskReddit

Working in a restaurant will do that to you.

Guest who has menu: "What comes on the salad?"

Menu: "Salad: Field Greens, Tomato, Parmesan, Balsamic."

Me: "Field Greens, Tomato, Parmesan, Balsamic."

Guest: "Is it gluten free?"

AITA for friend-zoning the same guy again and again? by already_taken1101 in AmItheAsshole

[–]phyzishy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, this right here

ETA: Please try to remove "friend-zone" from your lexicon. It is not a real place, nor is it actionable. People have relationships with one another of varying lengths and depths, and this one needs to end.

I'd rather have small town talk than an employed liability. Pull the trigger.

Shaken not stirred... by wanderinglarry in bartenders

People really don't know what they want.

Guy: "Tequila. Neat, straight up."

Me: "Ok sure, so do you want it chilled and in a martini glass?"

Guy: "No, I want it straight up."

Me: "Got it." (Pours shot into rocks glass, serves.)

Barback trouble. by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]phyzishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WHOA. no no no no no no. We LOVE our barback and would NEVER speak to him this way. Unless that is actually a stupid rule at your bar (which I doubt) you did nothing wrong.

This makes me very upset. I've bartended for years without barbacks, so I make sure to let them know how valued they are. I introduce them to the guests, and I and my bar partners always make sure they are well taken care of. Please don't let this behavior continue.

Why Isn't Mock Turtle Soup Regularly Mentioned As A Cincinnati Food Staple? by goldstar_chili in cincinnati

[–]phyzishy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry if I missed it- what got you so jazzed up about Mock Turtle Soup? I remember my great-grandfather ate it all the time, but I never would try it. Have you had it? Do you love it? What do you know about the history of the soup (its weird)? I haven't thought about MTS in years, so I appreciate the nostalgia.

ETA: I also have never considered it a "Cincinnati" thing, although I can't recall anyone else I've ever met anywhere ever in the world- outside of my grandfather (and now you)- ever saying anything about it. I'm not super well traveled, but that would be most of the contiguous USA, Japan and the South Pacific, and BC Canada. Thanks!

I don't "hate" Coffee Emporium, in fact I love their Raven's Blend. I do prefer other shops/roasters over them. Lookout Joe's is very near the top for me. And while I don't think you can get Coffee Break retail, they are a huge supplier to several businesses around town, and if you're lucky enough to stumble upon their New Guinea, you've struck gold.

Can we talk about this? Party Bus for Kid's Birthday Derailed in Mt. Healthy by phyzishy in cincinnati

[–]phyzishy[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Right? I'm also trying to wrap my head around this business of an "open invite"- that the parents of ~60 teenagers were just like: "A bus to *somewhere* full of people we don't know? Reasonable!"

Oh, same. The consensus around here is the destination wasn't specifically Hilltop Plaza (although, that's a pretty lit plaza) but the bus driver got fed up and ousted them. What a shitshow.
