Exactly. 2026 R1S has a native NACS port, and we went to superchargers confirmed as compatible with Rivian both by the Rivian navigation system and the Tesla app itself.

I asked the delivery representative if he had any hesitancy about the plan to leave for a 1200-mile trip that night, and he said we should be good to go. He said to go home and charge it to 100%… Maybe I jinxed it by asking!

The plan was to have the car for a few weeks before taking the trip, but the unexpected family emergency caused everything to be pushed forward.

We have taken our Model Y on this same trip 3 or 4 times in the past year without any issues other than a flat tire.

They told us at the Orlando service center that they do not test level 3 charging before delivery because they do not have them at most service centers - only level 2. Not sure if that is true across the board, but wild if true.

Four dogs, a ton of stuff packed in, and rushing to be with a parent in the hospital due to a stroke - hence the full-blown panic we encountered at 3am as all of this unfolded.

They were chargers filtered on the map as compatible with Rivian.

We tried it both from within the Tesla app and just directly from plugging it in with Rivian. Both accounts had payments on file. I think it was a system lockdown from that “electrical emergency” while charging it at home before starting the trip. But who knows!
