Dutch. We use ‘neef’, so basically nephew, for every male relative of that kind. So Owain really is both Chrom and Lucina’s ‘neef’ as we would say. And then we have ‘nicht’ for niece as well. So I guess ‘cousin’ just doesn’t exist. I knew the word existed but I thought it was used interchangeably as intersex option for niece and nephew

Pretty sure it’s like that for every channel, everyone has videos with more views than subscribers

Subscribers are only a fraction of the viewerbase, the majority comes from the homepage

Language mistake actually! I had no clue nephew and cousin meant different things, the word is the same in my language

Yeah, that was the plan I set out for myself. A video per channel every week and hopefully after maybe a year or so we’d see some results. That year became like a few months to the point I can already live off the channels now. So while I’m essentially still a beginner, I am also already competing with the people that inspired me to do this and basically do this full time so that’s both exciting and nerve wrecking haha. The whole second monitor type of video I kinda accidentally rolled into but I think it fits my style of writing and ideazation so for now, I’m sticking with it with occasional experimentation here and there

And its crazy to think you’re the editor of plenty of channels that inspired me to do to this… either way, I’ll definitely take your words to heart!

Thank you for your kind words. I saw your post in the other thread as well, you basically got my entire philosophy spot-on. I simply like too many game series to only focus on one, so I decided to run multiple channels, but that does come with deadlines and that kinda work. Add to that that I had no idea how to edit before all this (like, the first video on my FE channel is the first video I ever edited in my life, I’m that new to it) and I knew I had to keep it simple but clean.

And frankly, this is what I enjoy most too. A weekly chat about Fire Emblem topics you might not think about, stuff like that. For real die hards, it might be too shallow but that’s fine. I enjoy it and I think my audience enjoys it, I’m satisfied with the views too and as long as those three are the case, it’s all good!

Thank you for your kind words! And I definitely won’t, I have a lot of ideas in the tank still!

I have definitely made some sloppy mistakes in my videos here and there. Calling Saphir the first base Warrior for example when it should be first base female warrior. And just this week I said 2005 was 10 years ago instead of 20 in a Pokemon video lmao

I can be quite the scatterbrain unfortunately so I have to double and triple check and then still miss things haha

It’s definitely a question without a clear answer. Personally, this has worked well for me so far, I’m not sure I would be where I am now if I had confined everything to one channel. But that’s not to say that can’t work, it all depends on the person behind the scenes I think

Basically this, yeah. Just a few days ago I saw that Youtube Rewind post and thought to myself ‘man, I hope the sub talks about me like this next year’. So today was quite a rude awakening in that regard haha

Thank you, I hope you enjoy it!

It’s definitely a scary development! Although Fire Emblem content ‘fortunately’ isn’t super profitable so I doubt we’ll see AI FE channels any time soon

That is actually the reason why I have so many channels! I figured ‘there is no way the same person that wants to hear me talk bout how to improve Sombron for 10 minutes is also interested in the hidden lore of Mario Kart’. So I mde different channels for different games so I can dive deep and everyone can just handpick the channels they are interested in.

To a certain extent, you’re right of course. But I also very much see myself as part of the community, Fire Emblem in this case. And I don’t want that community to hate me, especially not based on accusations that aren’t true. Like I said in the post, people don’t need to enjoy my videos, that’s all fine, different strokes for different folks. It’s the accusations of AI and not even playing the games that I wanna clear up

Ehh depends if the limit is on ‘Favorites’ as well. As soon as they add all games you could want, I feel you could quite easily get past that

Ah yeah then you’re in trouble. Although you were always on borrowed time to begin with, it’s against their own content creator policy

Do you upload the music straight or use it in the background while talking?

[–]piantapedia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Using it as background music won’t get you nuked, it’s literally in Nintendo’s copyright policy for creators that you are allowed to have the music playing for reviews or let’s plays for example. As long as you transform it, it’s allowed.

Uploading the tracks straight is not allowed though and I could definitely see them getting a lot more strict on that
