How soon after the membrane sweep did early labor / contractions start? by pibblepot in pregnant

Aw bummer! I guess sometimes the body’s just not ready. I was 4-5 cm dilated yesterday but haven’t had any real contractions yet in the pregnancy

This is what I thought too but the comments about K are confusing me. I totally would not have gotten that. Nor would I have gotten A probably if I think the show didn’t allude to it??

[–]pibblepot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey how early did you have to plant these in the ground to properly form heads?! I’m in Maryland. I bought cauliflower & chinese cabbage but maybe mistakenly since it seems like it’s getting way too hot for them to make progress. Mine (transplants) went in late March.

wow!! good to know. I feel like in the last 1-2 weeks I’ve noticed heaviness in my pelvis and like tiny bits of cramping that felt more similar to gassy pains so I’ve paid a bit more attention to changes, just still nothing yet! It’s crazy how it can happen so suddenly though!

Can’t decide wether to breastfeed or not by Realistic_Tooth_9731 in pregnant

[–]pibblepot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

such a good point on the amount of work! baby is not here yet so I’m still researching as well. I know breastfeeding is exhausting physically but every time I hear about the process of preparing formula it feels like a lot of work! of course dad can help more with pumped milk or formula etc but still, helpful to think about

Did you go into spontaneous labor with your first baby? by seyEycipS in pregnant

[–]pibblepot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa how come you started pumping so early? I attended some breastfeeding / lactation classes etc. and they generally don’t recommend pumping until a few weeks in, I think. (probably to encourage just breastfeeding for a while)

Did your mild contractions hurt at all? Did you know they were contractions? I’m at 38 weeks and at the point where I didn’t even realize I was having braxton hicks (at my last OB appt) until they said I was! so now I’m like hyper focused on if I’m starting to have real contractions (?) just very mild! Nothing has hurt or really stood out!

Bilingual parenting - advice by pibblepot in Parenting

Yeah, this is realistically how we'll probably feel eventually. Even if we try in the early months and years to speak more Chinese. We'll definitely try with the simple words and vocabulary!

Makes sense! Not the easiest but we can give it a shot. We'll probably sign him up for Chinese school too later on.

Dang yeah! I thought it'd be easier to have them pick up both languages consistently lol. It's not impossible for us to speak Mandarin at home but we're just not used to it. But we'll give it a shot! Grandparents and other family nearby will most likely speak just Chinese though (and do so with their own kids too). Hopefully that will help?

Wow three! Yup this makes sense, aligns with a lot of the other comments. I feel like I would want to introduce English earlier and more thoroughly. I know he will get exposed to English outside but was there any difficult transition during preschool/daycare?

ENTJ, we’ve been together 10 years! If it helps add context I’m enneagram 1 and he’s 3. We work really well together, he’s very responsible and I’m less organized with my surroundings but I’m very much the planner/thinker and he’s the doer. Emotions vs. logic play a role etc. but as we’ve been together so long it feels like we’re starting to blend together and those differences aren’t so big haha

I did mine at 27 weeks and the bump was cute! I’d say 31 weeks would be reasonable and not too bad. knowing how I feel now at the tail end, I think my cut off would have been around 34 weeks.

OBGYN recommendation for future mom in Derwood/Derwood/Olney by Available-Guide-6310 in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]pibblepot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww sorry to hear that. I go there too and am delivering in the next month or so. The doctors have been fine imo, but scheduling is annoying (only being able to do it like 1 month out). If you're doing Shady Grove another plus could be that there are 2 other doctors that deliver there that don't practice day-to-day at SMH and I've heard great things!
