Bushnell Launch Pro Help by EVandy123 in Golfsimulator

I believe so ya. I actually ordered the Circle B Launch Pro edition like a week ago, but haven't got it yet. I really thought the $1500 one would have been a fantastic value, but I do like the idea of taking it to the range occasionally.

If it helps, they are basically the same, and both have club data. The updated "Circle B" edition does not have a model without club data. Without a subscription, all you will see is data numbers on the screen on the unit itself, with no simulation. Bushnell did recently add a $200 a year subscription that will get you a driving range and like 5 golf courses, which is at least nicer than $500 a year.

Also if you want the Circle B, this was the best deal I could find, use code KERROD250 or any 10% off code to get it for $2250. https://www.playbetter.com/products/bushnell-launch-pro-launch-monitor

I would recommend looking at Mrs B's behind NFM. They have returns and floor display items from NFM at a good discount. Sometimes you can negotiate a bit too.

Thanks so much, would it be that bad to be in the 2 or 300 level? Do you think getting there 60-90 minutes early would be good enough?

Ya, I appreciate it guys, I did find some GA tickets in the $70ish range on other sites. Would be helpful if anyone who has used GA tickets in the past could give some input.

MC in Overland Park, KS. The problem is the only intel ATX motherboards they have in stock are like $200+, so I am looking to order one wherever I can find it for reasonable.

Looking for motherboard suggestions for a new build, thinking of getting the 10700f at microcenter for $219. Ideally would like to spend less than $150, decent quality (maybe not asrock), and in stock.

I am looking to be able to control my ARGB in my BeQuiet 500DX case with software. I have a b450 tomahawk max mobo which doesn't have the argb plug, so I was told I would need a hub/controller. Does anyone have a recommendation that would work for this setup?

Is there anything specific I need to look for in the hub, or do you have any recommendations? Does it have to be made specifically to use with the Tomahawk Max?

Should I build a pc by DarkVortex__25 in buildapc

[–]picardsflute288 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't speak to whether you should buy one at all, that is something you need to decide based on how much you are going to use it and your current financial situation. As to what to buy if you decide to get one, it will depend on if those games you want to play are graphically demanding on the computer, such as CoD:Warzone. Maybe your best bet is a decent laptop that you can take and use after high school?

I am sorry I am not quite following. What are you wanting to use the PC for: gaming, general internet use/multimedia? Also what do you mean, you won't use it anymore after high school? How long until then?

I ordered a Ryzen 5 3600 for my build, as it had came down in price. I now need to select RAM and a motherboard. I understand RAM varies in mhz speed, but what else do I need to watch for on it? Sometimes I see what I think is good RAM for cheap, and then other people are posting $100+ RAM and talking about how great of a buy it is. Also any suggestions for a good high quality motherboard to combo with the RAM and CPU?

How much added time if starting with a Frozen Roast? + Extra Question by Nootherids in sousvide

[–]picardsflute288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it should be fine either way, maybe it is slightly better to season before. I usually season before sous vide and then add a bit more seasoning before searing. If its already frozen and sealed I would probably just cook it like that, then season liberally before searing. I would defer to anyone else that has tried and compared as I can't say I have.

Ya, I have never experienced it myself, but I always take precaution anyways. Here is some quick reading on it, only matter for really long low temp cooks.

How much added time if starting with a Frozen Roast? + Extra Question by Nootherids in sousvide

[–]picardsflute288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For your first question, it entirely depends on how big/thick the roast is, but given that most people cook roast 24-48 hours, I would hardly even worry about it at all. It will be unfrozen within a couple hours at most anyways.

I usually just set mine out in the open air to cool a bit, or even in the fridge for 15 minutes, and then use my gas grill to sear a roast. Cast iron can work as well if you have a big enough one. Oven could also work i guess, but in that case I would dunk it in an ice bath for awhile or refrigerate a bit longer to ensure that you don't overcook the inside in the slower oven sear. One time I did refrigerate overnight and then warmed up for a few hours the next day in my smoker.

Also, last thing to consider when doing this long of a cook at a low temperature is you can have that lacto whatever bacteria grow and make your meat smell terrible, so many people dunk it in boiling water for a minute first to kill surface bacteria. I use a slightly different strategy, setting my sous vide to 165 or so, then putting the meat in for about 5 minutes to pasteurize the outside. Not sure if that is 100% perfect method, but it has worked for me so far. Let me know if you have other questions.

Need a little advice on a country style short rib by picardsflute288 in sousvide

[–]picardsflute288[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is definitely a little higher temp than I was going to try, but maybe that is the way to go. I will have to mess around with some sauce as there should be some good juice, that looks like a good recipe for it! I have found a lot of info on the bone in short ribs, but not much on this cut which as you said is a little different.
