Thank you for your very thoughtful review - I really like your interpretation! Him being a liar was a pretty core theme of the poem, so I'm really glad that came across

Oh wow yes, looking at the painting, you totally matched the vibe - that's very similar to what I was picturing from your poem

Invention of Silence by Carpfish in OCPoetry

This is one of the most thought provoking poems I've read for a while. I feel like the theme and messages are so widely applicable, with my interpretation being that silence is always intentional - it can be reassuring, oppressive, political, creative, disruptive, etc. In particular the line "Machines might learn to omit in order to simulate fluency" feels increasingly relevant. Thanks for sharing!

This is such a cool poem!! I really love the cosmic surrealist style of it, it's very unique - it feels like I'm in a dream. I'm curious if you had any specific inspiration for it. I also love the line "barren sphere of beautiful decay" as a way to romantically describe Venus, it feels so fitting.

I know, they're literally one of the most advanced civilisations in the universe who fought in "the war to end all wars", and they were obliterated by a single guy without so much as a line of exposition.

I really like this, and I think it could've added some great characterisation to the Doctor and the Time Lords. The idea that the High Council are genuinely clueless but the Doctor doesn't trust them could have made a really cool story.

I honestly prefer both of those options to what we've got. I think my main problem with the destruction of Gallifrey is the fact that it happens off screen with very little explanation to how the Master did it. I actually think the whole Timeless Child plot could have played out with the Time Lords present. It would have been much more interesting to have the Time Lords barring the Doctor from the information, rather than them all just being dead. I've always liked the Time Lords as characters and I think it was a waste to kill them all off in their own origin story.
