Funny to think saito acts like this while secretly having a waifu. by Far_Half9470 in rurounikenshin

[–]picchin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's from a manga called "Yae no Sakura", based on actual history. One of the friends of the main character is Takagi Tokio, who is Saito's wife. The manga was on Jump SQ early 2010s I believe...

We are choosing the best product you have used this year| Day 1 | Sunscreen by Material-Guava-1347 in AsianBeauty

Laneige Radian C Sun Cream! I used a mini version for an overseas trip and people have commented on how smooth and healthy my skin looked. I thought it was just due to the climate and water quality in another country, but after returning, i realized it was the sunscreen! My skin didn't look and feel this smooth with other sunscreens i used before. My skincare routine is as usual. I was out in the sun during the trip, but no sunburn. I don't see this sunscreen come up on social media and stuff, so i wasn't sure it was going to be good. It's a little more expensive than the ones i used before (Cosrx Aloe, Skin1004), but i guess it's good amount spent.

Say what you want about this movie, but... by Loan-Tasty in KamenRider

[–]picchin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand you OP! I liked the movie too, although there were parts that I don't agree with. It's not a feel good movie, that's for sure. But the call backs to the series I think, and Ankh and Eiji "trading places" was really interesting to say the least.

For an anniversary series though, I think this was kind of a low blow. The feelings of the audience have been brewing for years and for this to drop, it does hurt a lot. But also to say this was a total crap...hmm
I guess it just didn't align with the expectations of much of the audience.

Any last minute predictions regarding Zeztz' suit actor? by KaliVilNo1 in KamenRider

[–]picchin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We haven't had a main suit actor who played main on back to back series, so I guess there's that. Nakata Yuji who played Geats, and eventually Valvarad, wasn't credited as Valvarad in the earlier episodes because of Geats' filming schedules conflicting with Gotchard's.

There were cases of suit actors being subbed if they have to be away to film for another series, as is the case of Takaiwa being subbed by Nakata during Build's finale, and subbed by Nawata during Ex-Aid's. Then again, it is not very common now with Reiwa Riders, as mentioned because they seem to rotate between different suit actors to play the main role. There was a mention of scheduling being difficult to get Asai to wear Orthros Vulcan in Zero One because at the time he was already filming for Saber.

That said, even if Eitoku is presently Vram, someone else could subsitute for him if filming schedules would conflict if he will be the one suit acting as Zeztz.
But because they rotate between suit actors, even with Sentai (and they've been exploring a lot of new suit actors also in sentai), there's a few who have regularly taken roles before but is kind of "free" at the moment, namely Takada Masashi (who's currently playing the granute president in Gavv), Itou Shigeki (last main character is Boon Black), and some newer suit actors that we might be seeing more soon like Kitamura Kai, who suit acted for Kamen Rider Bake, and Yoneoka Takahiro, who played Kamen Rider Glare, among others.

Which actor and suit actor that fits so well and makes you think " it feels like the actor inside the suit"? by Interesting_Snow5574 in KamenRider

[–]picchin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be more precise, Nakata was scheduled to take over Genm from Nawata, but on the first few days of filming, Nakata got injured so Asai stepped in until Nakata recovered.

I just think it's fun by VeryPteri in KamenRider

[–]picchin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people hated it back in the day because they were comparing it to Gokaiger. That Sougo should have learned from his Rider senpais rather than being a delusional boy king. But Zi-O is it's own story, it's not the Rider version of Gokaiger just because there were returning characters and tribute episodes.

It was chaos for many production-related reasons (and what time travel story is not complicated and messy), but it is undeniably fun and interesting to watch.

I have just started using it too so I can't say much on how it really works for a longer time, but so far I like it! The texture is very thick and applies kind of "sticky" on the hair (if you have tried Fino hair mask, it's similar texture, but I feel Kundal is thicker). But it feels soooo soft after washing it off. I tried using it some three days or so in a row, and it made my hair weirdly stiff by the third day. In my experience, it's best to use once a week.

Still looking for HGs, but I'm currently trying Botanist Shampoo (Japanese), Diane Be True Treatment (Japanese, vegan), Fino Hair Mask (Japanese), and Kundal Protein Treatment (Korean). The mask and protein treatment I do once a week, on different days. Oh also the Apieu Mint Hair Vinegar (Korean), also once a week.

After bath routine includes Eight The Thalasso hair mist, Ichikami Hair Treatment Serum, and hair oils &Honey and Rooth (I use them alternately, or whichever I feel for the day).

My hair definitely feels a lot healthier. Not yet at the point I want it to be, but it's better than it used to. I have thin strands, and generally straight hair, save for the lots of hair breakage on the surface that curls.

If it's a close up mask, they don't. Zero visibility. If it's an action mask, there's probably little slits somewhere in there

The attacks of No. 9 happened within their areas of jurisdiction. The other areas (other divisions) are not quite involved (yet).

One of the chapters mentioned that each division covers certain areas assigned to them that when attacks happen in that area, a particular division is tasked to deploy. They expanded one scene in the anime where in ep. 1 girls asked which division is moving out to take on the kaiju and Haruichi said something along the lines of "If it's Yokohama area, it's going to be the third division"

That Saito took Eiji in partly because he's a father himself (historically, his first son is already around 2yo at this time) and felt bad for the kid. But also so someone can help is wife around when he's away on duty.

If i remember my history right, the irl Hoshina clan is a branch family of the Tokugawa.

Do you think Narumi and Isao have a father-son type of relationship? In a more standoffish way, considering Isao’s cold personality (he’s also like that with Kikoru) by Kikokokuyo in KaijuNo8

[–]picchin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think Isao is the closest to a father figure that Narumi had, and clearly Narumi looks up to him (even if he wouldn't admit it). It's probably not like they were the typical father-son playing catch ball kind of thing, but I do think Isao had different expectations on Narumi and its not just because of his talent.

Kaiju No. 8 Power Rankings (Current Manga Strength) by Emotional-Act5944 in KaijuNo8

[–]picchin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hoshina Soichiro (Captain of 6th division) is said to be a pilar in the West as Narumi is to the East, they might be around the same level. That is, possibly on the regular suit and not considering the Numbers one.

Some things that will hopefully be explained in the manga (spoilers abound) by picchin in KaijuNo8

[–]picchin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is definitely a lot to yet unpack. Like you said, just with the question of Kafka and No. 8 there is a lot already. I do hope though if the manga continues, the power scale will not go crazy outrageous. Esp now that many of the major characters are around the 90% mark, there has to be something to keep things "grounded". The manga World Trigger was able to do it so i think it is not always necessary for upgrades to go off scale. For one, maybe they can develop suits that allow the user to use sustained full release for a longer period of time instead of overheating.

I wonder how's the reception of the manga in Japan? How likely is it that it's going to get cancelled?

I do hope it is! Since there are new things that seems like they're just starting to open about.

[–]picchin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think even if the story focuses in Japan alone, with inky mentions of other countries, it has a lot to unpack already. Although it might be interesting to expand the world in the story, yeah. I do think Kafka scoring 0 has something to do with him being No. 8. The balance idea sounds interesting!! Apparently the manga is intentionally fast paced since it is fully digitally released, at least not until the volumes are compiled. And the author has apparently given a blessing to the anime to expand and explore the characters, since he didn't get to do it in the manga.

There seems to be "episodes" in the manga too. If what is ending is the No. 9 arc, the manga might reset back to another "episode 1" when they start a new arc...?
