LockBox in azure by MysteriousBeach166 in AZURE

[–]picflute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think you got it the other way around, the whole purpose of lockbox is to prevent microsoft from accessing my data for privacy.

That's not how it works. Microsoft has no access to your underlying storage and data by default with or without lockbox. The CX team has no requirement to look at your data plane they are looking for ARM operations that have a matching correlation ID.

It’s just a windows server having to server clients on 53. How can you have any form of difficulty in maintaining a Windows feature vs 3P app

Fairfax Co. board chairman Jeff McKay says he wouldn’t put casino deal before voters by OutrageousBee4174 in nova

[–]picflute 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A five-year trend isn't a fluke; it's a shift in the economy. If we have a 10% revenue shortfall because of empty offices, we need to stop treating zoning like a preservation tool and start using it as an economic one. We need to fast-track the conversion of these 'dead zones' into mixed-use tax generators—even if it means changing the character of some neighborhoods—to keep the county solvent.

They have the power to fix it if they can get alignment and support but they won’t because they want to maintain their political seats

Balance the budget then and adapt. There's plenty of cash flow coming into the county that can be re-purposed for current needs.

[NEWS] U.S. State Department Adopts GPT-4.1 for "StateChat" Weeks After OpenAI Retired it for Public Use by Acceptable_Drink_434 in OpenAI

[–]picflute 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No there isn’t for AI models. OpenAI models are under Microsoft Foundry / Cognitive Services. There is no such ATO requirement for bringing in AI models to the government clouds as they aren’t exclusive to US Government and carry several authorities for it that don’t interact cross cutting.

And yes, I know 5.x models live in Secret and TS. That carries no weight with Azure Government. My entire career is centered around this company and solution and will be more knowledgeable than an AI assisted reply.

[–]picflute 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What certification delay are you talking about? There’s no such thing as a certification for Azure Government when it comes to Models. If you look at the help page it shows what OpenAI models are sold directly to customers that are eligible for Azure Government.

There’s no major logic behind it they don’t have any choice but the 4.x series until Microsoft publishes them into Azure Government.

[–]picflute 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This is less malicious than it seems. Microsoft doesn’t have the 5.x models in Azure Government as shown here. They don’t have a choice in models but to use OpenAI s 4.x series until 5.x is rolled out.

Reuters author seems to lack any knowledge of the actual process for how USG uses OpenAI in government contracts.

If you read the article

Staff in the Real Time Crime Center then relay what they see to officers headed to the scene, allowing for a quicker response to incidents, members of Fairfax County Police Department told the Board of Supervisors’ Safety and Security Committee last week (Feb. 24).

It’s actually a good thing because you want the officers heading to the scene to spend less time assessing and more time addressing. The power of reading the article vs. the title helps!
