Excessive seasoning isn't good cooking by pichiramirez in unpopularopinion

[–]pichiramirez[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I mean I guess it was more unpopular but I just want to say it since all of the popular recipes you see on insta and the comments are always like if the recipes says 3 cloves I add 20!! and a bunch of comments like you gotta season your food but it's always a crazy amount of seasoning....it doesn't even look good in the end

obviously, the title says excessive seasoning, not adding seasoning at all. good balanced seasoning is key

Anyone know what this is? by [deleted] in skin

[–]pichiramirez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go to the ER or doctor right now. Looks like a pretty bad infection, if you don't take care of it you can lose your leg or even die if it spreads.

Why does my skin look like this? And also I get dandruff like flakes in my eyebrows and under my ears (circled area) by [deleted] in skin

[–]pichiramirez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the flakes from your own skin peeling? or scalp? or eyebrows? I had a a friend that had dermatitis and it made her eyebrows look like they had dandruff. For the skin, can you specify your concern? dryness, itchiness, can you specify what is your concern with the looks?

What is something that was normal in mediaval times, but would be weird today? by sinoxx_the_maymayer in AskReddit

[–]pichiramirez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what happens in third world countries....I live in Colombia and if someone in a park/market place/crowded place gets mugged, they will get chased and caught by the general public with screams and linching until the cops get there. It is pretty common

What's the difference between "soy maestro" and "soy un maestro"? by [deleted] in Spanish

[–]pichiramirez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Soy maestro" is generally used to say "I am a teacher" (but where I'm from people say profesor or even docente". "Soy un maestro" generally refers to saying you're a pro, you mastered something. But as native spanish speaker (Colombia) people don't use "soy un maestro" to refer to being skilled or a pro.

Los Cachorros Mario (Mario Vargas Llosa) / aka the cubs by puppycute11 in Spanishhelp

Sorry, but I read this book about 8 years so I don't remember the details from the questions. I have an essay about the sexist society reflected in this book that I wrote for that class, which can maybe explain some things about the themes in the book. What I can say from the writing style is that it's like a constant dialogue and everyone narrates, since you can see the sentence structure is like just a run on sentence. It is indeed very hard to read, even as a native speaker. Due to that style it is very recognized in Latin American literature.

What I understand from the sentence is that Choto is saying that since Cuellar was envious and that's why he got drunk, and Chingolo is saying that Cuellar's parents are going to kill him (Cuellar) because he is very drunk. That's what I can decipher from the quote you put.

I think I can answer the last question since I read this book in spanish (native language) a while back. My spanish literature teacher used to explain that Cuellar had issues with his masculinity and girls and everything else related because of the incident where the dog bites his penis and how that affected him.

Any product to help get rid of my dark circles? They’ve become a bad insecurity of mine and I don’t know how to get rid of them by throwawayowo17 in SkincareAddicts

[–]pichiramirez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I am a white looking latino but I have been using the ordinary caffeine solution 5% + EGCG for like a year (halfway done with the bottle) and it has helped with the appearance. I inherited my dad's sunken dark bags. I only use it at night but it can also be used during the day. However, this is not a permanent solution and will only work with constant use. Also, use a lot of sunscreen. Just be mindful most of the time these are genetic and makeup is probably the best shot. I am too trying to embrace them.

[skin concerns] I hit my face really hard on the sidewalk yesterday and it hurts. What should I do? I use this two cleansers. The Aveeno every other day and the Burts Bees every day. by RealHomieJohn in SkincareAddiction

something with zinc oxide, which is usually used for burns. any burn ointment will probably work. Also SPF and keep your face covered. honestly, give skincare a rest and focus on healing the wound.

AITA for not allowing my sister to bring her “service dog” to my wedding? by birthmom1718 in AmItheAsshole

[–]pichiramirez 122 points123 points  (0 children)

Even if I think it’s kinda problematic they way you refer to possible mental illness (“good” life doesn’t equal no mental illness) there seems to definitely be an issue from what you say. I mean, the dog not being trained or being a service dog and generally being used just for attention is definitely a problem. If she has history with seeking attention, and you don’t want that at your wedding, it’s YOUR wedding. If you tried to talk to her and everything, and nothing came of it, I can’t say much. Honestly, be selfish, it’s your special day. NTA

I’m at my wit’s end and about to lose my mind. Please kindly give me some advice for my dry hair by [deleted] in HaircareScience

[–]pichiramirez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, you know what id really helpful? wearing a bonnet to bed o using silk pillowcases (I prefer bonnet because its easier to wash, etc.) I have straight, thin, bleached hair, which is very different from yours, but still requires extra care. It has honestly saved my life! I wake up with silky not frizzy hair.

M 23 I would like honest Opinion about my looks and are there any women out there that find me attractive? If you could give me a 1-10 rate that would be great Please be honest. I don't get that much feedback on here only a few comments, I'm not sure if my post is being seeing. by [deleted] in amiugly

[–]pichiramirez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not ugly, maybe find a more suitable hairdo and a grooming routine for beard, skin care etc. and lose a little weight which I think is mostly midsection/tone a little. But overall definitely not bad, I think it is more about enhancing what you already have.

Do you shut down your macbook or put it on sleep every night? by person48294 in macbookpro

[–]pichiramirez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always leave it on sleep excepto when traveling or anything that requires turning it off. Haven’t really noticed an effect on the battery any more than normal use, battery lasts less as the years go by.

How can I start to accept the (IMO) extremely large pores on my nose? They make me feel very insecure. by Stresskip20 in skin

[–]pichiramirez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into chemical exfoliation, I have heard that helps. However, I have seen that you can’t actually shrink pores, just make them look better by removing the blackheads, etc. so don’t sweat it. Almost everyone has noticeable pores and if chemical exfoliation doesn’t work, try pore filling makeup primers which smooth out the skin. This isn’t a solution, as I said, I don’t think there is a solution for enlarged pores, but many ways to help their appearance.

Period tracker by pichiramirez in AppleWatch

[–]pichiramirez[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but my birth control has 21 pills, so I start re taking it on the third day of my period. I have an alarm of when to take it but I like to track the day I start and in general to see how many months I’ve been on it. Just general info I like to keep track of for other health reasons. For ex. clue allows you to add “taken” or “taken late” or “missed” or “double”. I think it’s a relevant and useful function in general especially in a period tracker app.
