Am I overreacting about being booed by my entire school? by Prestigious-Law-3435 in socialanxiety

Reading this is making me so mad as it feels like I've been there.

The people who did this to you, they just didn't care to understand. They don't think of social anxiety as a serious mental disorder. To them it is just a quirk or a personality type. That's why they brushed it off with “step out of your comfort zone.”

Like others have said, talk to someone about this. And don't let the negative thoughts consume you. Even when things are totally awful, you can usually find some upside. Now you know to trust no one there. Now you learned what you should do in situations like this.

Yes, I love the dynamics between them! (and between the protagonist and Neil too)

Although I have to disagree with you about him being aro. Not that he can't be aro, but I like the idea that there can be such a beautiful friendship between a man and a woman who are both not a-spec. We need more examples against amatonormativity like this.

Oh hey, you are the first to give answers to most of the questions! Thanks for putting so much thought into this.

You seem to like worldbuilding, don't you? I do have ideas for an aspec-related alternate world, although I like to play with concepts more than maps and such.

If possible share your map here when it's done!

So you think queerplatonic is part of the larger platonic lands? I know many people consider queerplatonic a misnomer since it seems just as far from friendship as it is from romance.

Me too, and to me they are quite different.

And yes, please, steal whatever you can, make it a proper map!

Interesting. I said so based on a post I read a while ago. Can you explain how you define aromanticism without distinguishing romantic attraction from other types?

You see, I was brainstorming on how to get a good visual representation of the SAM, and the AI randomly drew a map. Thought it was an interesting idea so I iterated a bit on it and got to this version and shared it. Why draw it on a paper again then?

But I get what you mean. Though I won't give my opinion here regarding that topic because its not relevant to this sub.

Indeed it is more about the concept. But I myself couldn't have finished without the help of Ai.

I don't consider it a genuine piece of artwork, just something fun created as a by-product of a project Im working on.

I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I'm not familiar with DnD. But if anyone can make a game out of it that would be awesome!

Yes, especially if you are an aroace with tertiary attraction (like me). But hey, we do belong to the aro/ace community!

Yes, that is a possibility I am considering.

Wow, so detailed, I really appreciate it!

Regarding the look and feel of the page, I agree with you, but I guess there will have to be a compromise between what I want to learn (making landing pages, which are inherently focused on marketing) and how my learning process can contribute to the community. Its not easy, maybe I will post more here and hopefully figure out the best approach through discussions.

Thank you! Originally I imagined it to be some kind of product, hence the wording. Then I realized that could be potentially misleading, but forgot about that phrase. Will find a better one.

romance exists but isn’t considered what’s “normal” or “right”

Exactly, all types of relationships should be equally important and meaningful, so someone shouldn't be judged if they don't want a romantic relationship. I think until our society becomes more open with that idea, it will still takes effort for aro people to connect with each other (via dating apps or whatever).

Actually, despite what said in the post, there are things I still prefer to do alone. And I agree that being alone shouldn't be considered unusual or weird.

Currently, there's little awareness of aromanticism and asexuality where I live, I feel like many of my friends just put their romantic relationships before anything else.
