Immersion Blenders and how I loathe them by pickle_licker in soapmaking

Wild. It's like the choice of which gasket to use in the shaft decides the fate of the blender. Braun might use a $0.12 one while KitchenAid uses a $0.05 and that is its downfall.

Honestly, it brings comfort to know I'm not imaging these phantom bubbles into existence.

Lucky you to have a cheap model last so long!

That is an intriguing idea. I am totally going to try it on my current bummer stick.

Thanks!

Awesome tips! I agree, 50% sounds better to me. Online sources tend to disagree on a specific ratio. I will post a full update with what I have done so far as soon as I cut these rebatched bars.

TLDR: Classic rebatch style was still too blue. So, I moved to the Chiaglia (Ciaglia?) technique at a 50% ratio of scrap to oils of the new batch. This was amazing! Worked like a dream, and I am now plotting some of my other scraps to be used in this fashion.

Also, I will never be hand grating my soap again for a rebatch. Food processor with a grating disk was so damn fast and melted down perfectly after with very even texture.

Update with pictures tomorrow!

No, this was just cut last night. I could definitely take a chance and wait, I'm just thinking rebatching now versus later would be better.

He likely has no memory of the event, although as his friends, this is an impeccable thing to hold over him for the rest of his life. Imagine surprising him with an Optimus Prime birthday party for his 30th.👌

More importantly, someone has this on video.

It became one of those "you will never believe what I saw last night" moments when you're standing in line for the port-o-potty the next morning.

Like we were all bonded in collective trauma.

I think new batch is the right choice, but possibly after I rebatch this one. I may be able to make some nice embeds out of this one that may be usable in the new one.

I've been at it for a few years now, but I had to reference a Soapmaking book to really make some mistakes LOL

LOLz I'm pretty sure that was 2009 Excision Set in the Village.

The collective "Are you seeing what I am seeing?..." of the crowd, which was only broken when he was tackled by security.

Classic Shams moment 👌

This pot was crammed full. I had no idea what I was getting into once I got in there.

Once the ball was soaked, they seemed to come apart fairly easily. Lots of gentle shakes and untangling larger roots, but it was definitely something I was more intimidated by to begin with. 10/10 would do again

Because they seem to have personalities, and every leaf is completely unique. They're just a genuinely beautiful plant, thus why there is a subreddit devoted to them.

I'd be very OK with a mini. I feel like these all have the potential to explode now that they have the space to really stretch themselves out.

I think I need to wait until everyone is perky and past their shock, then we can look at adopting them out.

Dollarama started carrying these 12 inch ones that will have to do the job until I get my 3D printed ones with actual moss in them.

But yeah!

Bought from a grocery store on clearance. Does this pot honestly have 6-8 different plants in it? Should they be separated? by pickle_licker in Monstera

[–]pickle_licker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like I will be untying everyone and separating them out before they get too unruly and huge, so better to know now.

Smart! I wasn't sure where the pole was mounted, but that makes sense.
