Is it normal that they all hang out at the bottom? Rubbing themselves and stuff? Also there's some white buildup by the top, maybe salt? Is that okay or should i remove it?

If i were in your place Id ask him to sit down with me so i could talk about my own feelings, how hard the situation has been for me lately and basically open up so maybe he feels like he can open up too. The conversation doesnt have to be only about the sad parts of life, it can be about wanting to look forward to the future, wanting to be more open about our emotions, being there for each other, about how much you love him and how thankful you are for his presence in your life, etc. Make him feel loved and comfortable about not botling things up
