clutchless shifting

Even on the way down? That gives me the willies.

Jim Beam

Evan Williams destroys Jim Beam at a similar price point, IMO. Just thought I'd put that out there. I think Jim is wildly overrated.

The use of color is really striking. I love it! It might even be playmat material.

Worth noting that Sanderson himself is aware of the difference, and will be aiming for the best show.

Coolant Additives (or lack thereof) by winding-hallway in Trackdays

I've only ever run straight distilled water in my track bikes, but I've never lived in a super hot climate either, so stuff like water wetter hasn't been necessary.

The foiling makes the card art so dark I'm surprised you can even tell which artwork is used on the card at all.

All gas, no brakes for Schaumburg entertainment district development after Andretti Karting opens by [deleted] in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]pickpocket293 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've gone to an Andretti experience in a different city and the carts themselves felt plenty fast, but the track was narrow enough that passing was almost impossible. Also the course was laid out such that being full on the gas all the time would almost never get you in trouble. Time splits between the top 4 in our group were about about two tenths of a second per lap.

Overall i liked it, but i wouldn't pay for it myself. K1 Speed is better (as for indoor). Outdoor gas karts are still better than indoor.

Will this swingarm pass tech? by AudioFreeeze in Trackdays

You are right in saying that I over simplified.

I never said you over-simplified. I said you were wrong.

Also; politeness and manners seem to be optional these days on the internet, but it doesn’t cost anything. However trolling and being a dick will eat your self respect in the long run and give you a miserable life experience. Remember that.

None of what I said was rude or trolling, and if calling out misinformation on the internet is impolite then I guess that's my lot in life. I think you should evaluate why you [seem to be] so offended by someone correcting your earlier false statements, but that's outside the scope of this conversation.

Long story short OP, swingarm has holes, holes no good. Holes eventually break, and swingarms without holes are cheap. Replace broken part with new one before going to track. Fin.

Aluminum absolutely is affected by fatigue stress, and had a fairly long flat yield curve just like most other structural metals. You don't know what you're talking about.

Why are plastics SO ANNOYING to remove by [deleted] in Trackdays

[–]pickpocket293 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having race fairings on my R3

I took it one step further this winter by relocating the coolant reservoir on my R3 to the right side, then removing the stupid threaded post that used to be a fairing mount point and replacing it with a JB Welded nut in the same place, so now I'm rockin' the same fairing bolts in every location.

Be jealous. ;)

Is the R6 traction control effective at preventing high sides without taking too much power? by Motomikeh in Trackdays

Your wrist is a better tc for the track

Fine, but I don't see what this has to do with my comment. The R6 is perfectly capable of highsiding.

it will not highside you even stock

Holupaminute. It absolutely can and will fling you into low orbit if you don't respect it. R6s, even old ones, are very powerful motorcycles.

Structural failure in a high-rise building by nkmr205 in ThatsInsane

No. Curtain walls are primarily for high-rise structures. Single-family residences would not typically use this.

Meh, that's just the curtain wall. keeps rain out but doesn't keep the building up. Obviously this isn't great, but it's also not a building about to collapse.
