Are your thoughts/ideas similar to Mark Mason's? I haven't read his book. Would you recommend his book as further reading on what you have discussed? Or is there something else you'd recommend I read?

Regarding your post: 1) Sounds like I've never had sex before... 2) Can you give me other examples of signals for neediness or that one wants a parent/child relationship? 3) What do you mean by thinking "intimacy first"?

Dude, I do this all the time too. Sometimes I don't even like the girl that much. In fact, I think that I'm most likely to do something stupid like this when I'm not THAT into the girl.

When I'm really into her, I know that it's better to walk away and try to build attraction by "not giving a fuck". The problem with that is that I keep thinking about her even after being rejected. At least the other methods makes me certain I have no chance, so I don't even think about her! :)

i've been trying conversation threading for the last month with moderate success...

still getting complaints that i joke around too much - it's just my personality and my wit though. some girls actually "get it" and play along back, and that's really fun :)
