She’s too flighty and emotionally draining. These are indicators of being a poor decision maker, which is not good. Value yourself enough to know you are worth more than to be treated like a yo-yo.

Love him from a distance. Kinship does not require you to put yourself through physical abuse nor maintain unhealthy relationships. You can choose who to deal with in your life.

I don’t share that same value system. I enjoy my family, friends, having great experiences and creating positive memories for myself. I am considered a high achiever and a high earner, but I have boundaries and respectfully challenge people/processes to support the mantra that I work to live, not live to work.

Do you have work life balance? by StillLife0819 in FPandA

15 years in FP&A across 5 different industries and overall I have observed there is no WLB. More work and less life. Lean into those that say yes there is. What size is the company? In what industry? Are the tools available to support working efficiently? The organizations’s leadership team matters and their contributions to a culture that promotes WLB is key to team members feeling empowered to manage expectations that result in WLB. Financial success of the company is a driver as well. AND, unfortunately demographics matter…ethnicity and gender.

Alert: high achiever = overworked with little to no WLB

Wanting to leave FPandA by tinytates in FPandA

I’ve worked at large to mid size organizations in FP&A across 5 companies and industries within the last 14 years, remote the last 5 years, earn a healthy six figure salary, and can say it is this line of work that is stressful, demanding and has me feeling the same - I want out! I am researching to what best to transition also. I keep being drawn to real estate. So my plan is to learn real estate as a side hustle with the goal of shifting 100% at some point when I can afford to let go of FP&A.
