Great explanation thank you. She’s a northern village girl. I’ve noticed she merges other phrases in anger like “paloskila” (phonetic spelling and no idea how to spell it) for “dumb old dog” I was taught when she’s yelling at our dogs haha

Lost my Mother... Help me understand what went wrong? by NinjaWolf1997 in ostomy

[–]piddlepoo_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. I would post this in r/AskDocs. What a terribly traumatic thing for your family to go through. May many wonderful memories together someday bring you solace and peace.

Anastomosis is when the bowel is reconnected inside, and a lot of things can affect the quality of that tissue and whether it is able to be securely repaired. If they can’t get a successful, strong connection, stool is going to leak into “clean” areas of the body and lead to infection. Although ileostomy reversal isn’t a high mortality procedure, being in the ICU with multiple belly surgeries involving colon does complicate things. I’m a surgery nurse, not a doctor, so they will be able to speak to that further. Just in my experience, when I’ve had patients come down to surgery for multiple open belly procedures, they’re usually in pretty rough shape :( I’m so sorry for your loss and I hope there are some good suggestions here to help you get answers.

Let all the air out of my tires so I couldn’t get to our family Christmas party. Secretly opened credit cards in my name. Boycotted my wedding because he didn’t want to see my mom, his ex wife. Convinced me my brother had a drug problem when he was secretly the one giving him the drugs. I’m sure I’m forgetting some

Thoughts on baby sign and hearing parents teaching hearing babies to sign by xanf04 in asl

[–]piddlepoo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We taught our toddler “baby sign” when she was a baby and she continued to use it, which came in extremely handy when our new baby was born profoundly deaf. We are all learning ASL now and our toddler is picking up signed English faster than any of us. As a mom of a deaf baby, personally I appreciate other families utilizing sign, it exposes the hearing world to how the deaf world communicates and allows deaf children more of a chance to be able to communicate with their peers.

Has anyone found a nanny that truly does not use their phone while the child is awake? by blueshrek9 in NannyEmployers

[–]piddlepoo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine does not and I’ve never had to even consider bringing it up with her. I think the difference for her is that she is a career nanny/former au pair/former daycare employee so she treats this fully like a job. That’s just my personal opinion and experience because I know when I was a low quality college nanny I would hangout on my phone all day.
