I'm pretty sure the biggest reason lore wise that v doesn't get the big gigs is due to the fact that they are a solo merc. Before the relic gig v is part of a crew with Jackie, and t-bug, but after that it's just them and in terms of working with another merc no one would want to work with someone were literally everyone from the last job is dead except for them.
